Hello everyone, I'm here at this site for weight loss motivation and to support others as well. I need motivation!

My life story is similar to others, I'm sure. I have been overweight and trying to lose weight since before I could remember. My weight loss was best described as a roller-coaster effect, sometimes losing weight then gaining it right back.

I love food; I grew up eating pasta everyday. The way I was raised as a child - if you didn't finish what's on your plate, then you didn't get dessert. Of course, I was ALWAYS after that dessert.... (cannolis and pumpkin pie...my two weaknesses...) ...haha.

My weight is pretty stable right now. My "diet" is my own running/lifting/eating plan. But I've found that losing the last few pounds is very difficult! Hopefully now that the Holiday season is over I can lose the remaining weight.

This is my "Before" picture, at 255 pounds. It was at my peak weight, a little more than a year ago. I avoided cameras at all costs, so it was difficult to find a picture of myself.

I now weigh 185 pounds, but still have some weight to lose.

I Look forward to meeting everyone, and helping each other out on this site. Later.

Wow you've made so much progress already! Keep working at it. Pasta is definitely a weakness of mine. I've just joined recently also. good luck! :)

WOW Mike...so you used to be 255lbs?! I'm inspired by you!....That's amazing!..you look great!...What was your inspiration for marathons? I mean, why running? It's not most people's favorite form of exercise and fitness...if you know what I mean. hahah! ;)!...Can you find another before pic of you? I'd love to see it :D! ;)!

Hey!

I think I have one before pic on my facebook, but I'll have to check and put up another. I'll let you know.

Yes, I was 255 pounds a few years ago. I was sick of feeling my stomach every time I bent over to pick up things. I felt unattactive and unwanted, that was enough motivation to get that first run going.

Running was tough when I first started. I was so jealous of others, because I wanted "runner legs". I wanted to have them SO badly! I remember describing them to a friend, how thin and toned they are. That kept me motivated for a while.

But you know why I run marathons now, Alta! You know that feeling you get at mile 26, when your legs are broken, and it's so hard to lift them and keep running...but you can see the finish line... A slight tear of joy comes to your eye, and you're proud of yourself for the last few months of strict hardcore training that you have been doing.

THAT's my inspiration to run marathons; I'm addicted to that split-second at mile 26 when time freezes, and you realize that you're the best. Maybe you're not the best to others, or whatever - but you're the best in your own eyes. And that's what really matters to me. I don't run to impress others - I run to impress myself.

Stick with running, it works! I can burn 1160 calories in an hour running, and 2500+ on the long days. And sign up for races to keep you motived! Message me if you ever need more motivation!
