Hey I'm *Diva*, here's my intro...

Hi everyone. I'm *Diva* a mom to 4. 3 teens one adult. I'm from and reside in California. When it comes to anything to do with fashion, beauty, and now health I'm totally interested.

I really thought that if I just cut out junk food and cut my calories down drastically, and NOT exercise I can lose weight, well I did that and lost in the past 100 lbs. by fasting/under-eating/in-taking low calories without exercise. But, I've gained back 35 lbs.. I tried to tackle the weight I gained back up until now, but I can't do that unhealthy regimen any longer---because its a short term fix, it didn't teach me how to live healthy, and most of all its not healthy/aesthetically beneficial for long term purposes. I've made up my mind totally today I must go back to what I've done as an athlete as a young teen. That is exercise, and eat properly. I desire to keep the results I've worked so hard for, for life.

So, with saying all that I have, I just want to say I now realize I must adhere to a healthy eating program, not expect to lose my weight fast, and incorporate exercise on a consistent basis.

I'm very glad to be here, I haven't checked the forums as of yet, but I'm looking forward to making some good buddies/friends here.

Hello diva! I'm another diva..but that's a different topic.

At the end of the day, it really is about calories in and calories burned!!

Good luck to you on your journey and remember, consume less than you burn!

Thanks fellow Diva Judy.

I appreciate the advice, less calories in than burned, I appreciate that.

Yes honey like Beyonce say: "A Diva is a female version of a Hustla!!" So true. Thanks for the support.

That depends...not all guys want to be divas...but if you want to be one, it's fine by me. :)

I just want to be able to move my neck back and forth, snap my fingers with an attitude and say "NUH UH, NO YOU DIDN'T GIRLFRIEND!!!"

:reads what he just wrote:

Wow, that makes me seem really gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

My life in a nutshell involved watching my mom balloon to a US size 28, so I was surrounded by the emotional breakdowns and yo yo dieting. She died young of an obesity related heart failure so I have made it my lifes mission to help as many people as I can lose weight permanently. I am now a Personal Trainer and nutritional consultant and believe in real food for real fat loss.
THe first obstacle is to find out what your first obstacle is ! Seriously what is it that is holding you back.... Depravation, calorie counting and starvation dont work. They may temporarily but not in the long term. GO back to basics. Stop eating any processed foods. Here are 6 top tips that I guarantee that if implemented not only will you lose weight but keep it off:
1) Set yourself up for success- First of all, get into the right FRAME OF MIND. Have a think about your personal driving force – or why it is that you want to do this? What is going to be your biggest motivator for losing that excess body fat? write it down and put it on the Fridge.
2) Find a support group at work and home. Also, have friends that will encourage you, not sabotage you. Surround yourself with people that care about you achieving what you want.
3) Eliminate White Carbohydrates - They are simply empty calories. For this reason, exclude white rice, pasta, mash potato, or white bread.Try spelt or sprouted grain bread and have a Maximum of 2 pieces of bread per day
4)Eat real food, not processed food! The golden rule is anything that was around 100 years ago could classify as real food – these are foods with the least amount of packaging and additives. A good trick is to avoid the middle aisles of the supermarket. Stick to the boundaries – i.e. fruit, vegetables, meats, milks, etc. – the rest is just chemical filled, over processed, and over marketed
5) Decrease your sugar intake -The golden rule is to select brands with the least sugar added, and with the most fiber and protein. Substitute with Agave nectar or Stevia (100%) not artificial sweeteners these cause spikes in insulin and can often make you hungry!
6) have a Cheat meal every week. If you eat as listed above 85% of the time you will still lose the weight and you wont feel like you are on a diet. It's a lifestyle. Not a quick fix, so grab that Chocolate bar and enjoy it (just once or twice a week though...I recommend once a week until you have reached your goal and then twice to maintain)
