Hey, I'm a newcomer.

I've had this account for a while but have never done anything with it until now. I have a weight loss goal: to lose 97lbs within a year. I'm currently 217lbs and my goal weight is 120lbs (I'm only 5'1'') --I'm carrying way too much weight for my small frame. I see so many great successes here and so much positive encouragement that I am excited and delighted to a part of this online community. : ) I plan on posting before and after pictures of my progress with time on here. I have to confess that I am someone who feeds off of positive encouragement and compliments-that is my fuel to keep going. I am here to take back control of my life and am excited to offer my support and positive encouragements to all members on here hoping to achieve the same.
 
AIt's good you feed off of positive encouragement because you will get a lot of that on this forum. You can reach your goal, all you have to do is never quit, and to not get discouraged by some bumps along the way.

Good luck to you and hope you make it to your goal ASAP.
 
Its great your sharing your goals online here :) It will make you more likely to achieve it because you'll have accountability.


Use this to your advantage and try and get a friend or a group of friends to do it with you; this way you will have SUPER accountability and the support group of your friends will be really helpful :)

I'm new here too! Good luck! I have a similar goal in number...I didn't have a "number" to start with, but now I do.. I started at 268 and my goal is to weight 150 and at 5'7, I'm OK with that (it's what I weighed when I got out of highschool) ...I've lost 57 pounds so far and I've got another 60 to go...most days, I just stick to my routine (1hr elipical in the morning, large breakfast, small lunch, no dinner, no sweets, low carb and no softdrinks and lots of water)...and the weight is coming off...the more I lose the slower it comes off...but I'm sticking to it! Together we can do it!!
