Hey hey! And question about targeting a specific are of the chest?

Ok, so I'll jump on the bandwagon of introductions. Happened upon this website as I was researching the nutrition facts of pumpkin seed shells, of all things. Haha. Anyway, great forum!

I'm 27, 5'9" 140lbs, life-long athlete/gym addict :) Used to only do cardio and lower body weights exclusively until about August 2009 when I wanted a new challenge and began training my upper body as well. It's been the best thing I've ever done! I love the feeling of strength I get from my upper body and can't believe I used to think that only men "needed" to workout arms, back, chest, etc.!

Quick question -- one area that constantly bothers me, and I can't seem to target it, is the area between my chest and arm pit. There is this tiny little "poof" of fat there that shows when my arms are resting at their sides. Drives me nuts. Are there any specific types of free-weight exercises I could do to target that area, such as a certain type of fly or something? When it comes to chest, the only exercise I do to target that region is (military-style) push-ups. I do 4 sets of 15 to 20, 3x a week. Perhaps I just need to increase my reps?

Some will argue that your chest muscles are one big muscle and that you can't target a specific portion of them. When I do fly's however I definitely feel it more in the area you are talking about. Try some fly's and see if you get the results you want.
