Hi, my name is Arman and im 16 years old. I've been overweight all my life basically ever since I had a surgery back in the 2nd grade. Im currently weighing in at 224 pounds. I started exercising 3 days a week about 3 weeks ago and so far im 6 pounds down, but Im aiming at losing around 50 pounds and going down to 180.

I have eliminated all types of soda from my diet and fast food, those were the two things I had almost every day. I am doing only cardio, since I want to burn only fat right now and shed those pounds quickly, later on when im 180 i'll start working on muscles. I never used to eat breakfast or lunch and would just eat like 3 large meals when i come home, usually the last meal about 30 mins before I go to sleep. I started eating a small granola bar for breakfast and lunch but Im still eating extremely late, hopefully I can change that in time.

I was wondering, would it be possible to lose 50 pounds in 3 to 4 months?

What should I do to reach that goal?

I hate veggies but to lose those pounds, I'll do practically anything. I've done a little research and all I really know is that I should start eating 5 small meals a day, I should stop looking at calories and look at fat grams instead; not consuming any more than 20 grams of fat a day.

Any tips on how I can reach 180 pounds and keep it there would be greatly appreciated.

This is my before picture, hopefully in 3-4 months I'll be able to show you guys an after picture.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

You probably don't want to go the way of rapid weight loss my friend. People who lose weight in large amounts in a small amount of time are usually obese. You seem to be only mildly over weight if you're only 224 and your ideal is 180, if you lose the weight too quickly you could end up damaging yourself. You could end up losing muscle and i'm sure you don't want that.

I suggest going at a alower pace with your weight loss and do the norm. Drink lots of water, walk, run, swim, lift weights, set goals, stay consistant.

Thats the best advice I can give. loss 1-2 pounds a week this way you wont damage your metabolism.

so 3-4 months isnt gonna happen? My ideal weight would be around 165-170 but that aint happening anytime soon I guess, my bmi is like 34.8 so technically im obese:D . It would just be nice to come back my senior year in highschool and have like no one recognize the "new" me.

With a BMI over 30 its possible that rapid weight loss may be an option for you. have you ever heard of the Medifast diet? I will usually suggest it to my subscribers who are considered "obese" heres an article review flexyourhealth.com/medifast.html

If you choose to go about it on your own, I would highly suggest medical supervision to drop a lot of weight in short time mainly because of the possible side effects that can occur.

Whatever you decide to do keep us updated on your success.

I've thought about stuff similar to Medifast, like Nutrisystem, maybe I will try it if I dont see results as fast as I want to. I dont know why I would need doctor supervision right now, im doing only 30 mins a day 3 days a week, but im thinking about bumping that up to 5 days a week or 1 hour and keeping 3 days a week.

wow $275 for a month worth of food, ouch, thats gonna definately hurt my wallet.

I mentioned doctor supervision in case you went the route of rapid weight loss because it can be dangerous. One thing you have to watch out for is falling into a grove with your 30 min a day 3 days a week. When I am working out whether it be weights, cardio, etc I will always try to add more reps, longer distance, or more weight every 5 days or so to stay out of a rut.

Just stay active and drink lots of water and eat good fats and calories to keep your body burning. I hate to keep tossing links at you but I have have written an article about work out plans for beginners. flexyourhealth.com/exercise_plan_1.html

This should help you get started.

no its ok, give me whatever links you have that you think can help me. Thanks for all your help thus far though, im considering medifast though, just for a month to see how it goes.
