Hey everyone :)

Hi guys,

My name is Erin. I'm 21 years old, and I go to Ohio State. I'm mostly here because I love reading and talking about things related to fitness/nutrition etc, but don't really have anybody in my life that share these interests.

I've been working out for years but have never actually been completely satisfied with the results (definitely bc of diet). In March I'm going to South Padre Island, and I know I'm not going to have as good of a time if I'm worried about how I look in my bathing suit the entire time. Right now that is my main motivation.

Anyway I'm 5'3 and about 115 lbs (was 118.5 a month ago). I don't have a goal weight. I'm mostly just working for a flat stomach and leaner legs. I think I'm making some good progress so far. I just got to keep going and not get side-tracked or discouraged during the process!!

So yeh...just wanted to say hey :)

Welcome Erin! Welcome to the most "badest" Fitness forum on the Net!

We share something in common. I joined this forum, too, to be surrounded with persons with common and "like" goals. I wish you the best in what you seek to do.

What are you doing on diet and training currently? Congrats on the weight loss, GIRL! YOU FLAT ROCK!

If you keep yourself TRYING your motivation will be UNDYING and you will always be SELF-SUPPLYING!

ROCK ON!

Best wishes to you!

Yor're height/weight proportional already, you're 21, and you've got a great smile. You already have it going on girlfriend! But welcome and I hope you enjoy the company of the members here. Most of the members are nice or knowledgeable, a few are even nice and knowledgeable. I'm neither.

BTW, I'm a Florida grad myself but my younger son is looking at Ohio State and he has my blessing (and my tuition money) if he decides to go there and is accepted.

Thanks for the welcomes everybody :)

Chillen- Right now I'm doing a simple FB routine 3x/week (walking lunges, deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press, assisted dips, and either bent-over rows or assisted pullups). I do 3 sets of 10. I know that low reps are better, but I'm not trying to build muscle right now so I just settled on this for awhile. I figured it'd be sufficient for maintaining muscle.

I usually follow my resistance training with 30 minutes of cardio on the recumbant bike on high resistance bc I like how I can really really feel the burn in my ass lol. It's my best feature so I need it to be like 'BAM in your face' at all times. I also do HIIT 2x/week.

Once I go back to school in a couple of weeks I want to switch my weight routine up a little though. I think I should probably add squats back in and maybe play around with the sets/reps?? I definitely have to get my new plan together before I start class again.

Diet wise I've been aiming for in between 1200-1400. I usually get bt 60-80g of protein daily. I've heard from some people that is too low and from others that it is fine. Over the summer I was getting between 100-150g protein, and I really don't notice any difference.

The biggest thing that holds me back though is alcohol. I've worked out all through out college and never really got the results I felt I deserved mainly bc I would drink every weekend. Now I'm a senior (and actually of legal drinking age) and the whole thing has lost a lot of it's appeal. I've cut down A LOT, but it's still very hard to not want to go out sometimes. I live with 3 girls and they are so much fun and love going out. My boyfriend also loves going out to bars and partying. I know you can still have fun not drinking, but I like drinking because it makes me a lot more outgoing. It's my last year at Ohio State so I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible without letting it interfer with my goals. It's tough, but I think I can do it.

Phate- yeh and what?? Although I've tried a few things I'm still a very intelligent, motivated, successful, open-minded, and incredibly nice girl :)

g8r- Thanks! :) *deep breath* Florida huh?? Can't say I'm too fond of that school after...well I don't even want to speak of those events, BUT it's nice to meet you! I'm glad you would be very accepting of your son's decision if he does decide to go to OSU. I really LOVE this school. It was the best decision I ever made coming here :)
