Hey new to the forum and somewhat new to low cal dieting. I did Atkins for about a year and went from 260 to 220 but found it really difficult to stay on it due to a highly restrictive dieting style and lack of energy/ will to live. ;) through dumbass luck I was able to keep my weight off after atkins, which makes me the minority with that crazy diet

Basically I need a critique of my dieting style. I'm a 25 y.o. male and I eat around 1400-1600 cals a day. Vitamins include One a Day Weight Smart, Super B complex, Vitamin C, and Chromium Piccolinate (sp?). I rarely if ever eat bleached flour goods. If I eat pasta or bread, its 100% whole grain. I try to eat every 3 hours or so to prevent starvation mode. Fruits and veggies are 6 servings a day. Usually i eat south beach style goods cause of the amouns of protein and use of whole grains.

I have a home gym and thus can workout 5 to 6 times a week varying between 40 to 60 minutes, depending on work schedule which has me running around all day. I have a treadmill and a stationary bike and a little weight set. the bike I do pretty intensly for 20 minutes (200 cals) and the treadmill has a preset program to vary incline and speeds for a 30 min 300 cal workout. as far as the weight set, I do 10 reps 80% of max, 9 reps 85% and 8 reps 90% of bench, curls, incline, squats, etc.

Any comments on this? I'm looking (praying) for a 2lb a week loss. thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have a great plan in place-I'm not an expert, but it seems logical. Try posing your question in the "harsh truth" section, which is geared towards pros. Perhaps one of them can help you critique your plan. Good luck!
