Hi everyone, I'm Heather. I'm 22 and I live in the los angeles area. I'm 5'4 and weigh 155lbs, down from 175lbs. I grew up a chubby kid and have always been a little overweight, luckily though I've never let it get out of hand. I started going to the gym about a year ago and lost the 20lbs I know I could be at my goal by now but I haven't really been working at it real hard. I have a motivation problem I guess, and also an unhealthy relationship with food. I don't binge eat anymore but I do emotionally eat. Ever since I was a kid food has been happiness and also my dirty little secret, I used to hide food and eat it when no one was around because I knew it wasn't allowed or I'd be critized. I've been trying to eat healthier, but its really hard for me. Most healthy food just doesn't appeal to me, like most people I guess. also where I work makes it challenging. I work at the cheesecake factory as a server, don't know if any of you have ever heard of it but we have excellent (very unhealthy) food and over 60 different desserts, a lot of temptation and I often have to eat there because I have no other choice.
I used to go to the gym 5 days a week, but now with school and work I don't have much time anymore, I've been going like 2 times a week. I bought some weights and a workout ball for home so I can at least do something when I can't make it to the gym. right now what I'm doing is just basically keeping me at my current weight, not gaining but not losing. my goal right now is to be at 125, which means I have 30 more to lose. I know I can do it if I had some motivation and some support, which is why I'm here. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this. I'd love to meet some people that are in the same boat as me and we could help each other out. Thanks for reading everyone, can't wait to get to know all of you!
