Hi all, I'm 27 and from the UK
! Been trying to lose weight for quite a while now its been a slow journey! I'm 5'10 and my highest weight was around 5 years ago when I was around 195lbs. I now weigh 154lbs and I'm trying to lose the last few pounds to get to around 140lbs! I go to the gym 5 times a week currently but I sometimes eat too much so I'm really trying to watch what I eat! Just need a some motivation to keep me going! 
I know how you feel about being depressed! I know when I get depressed I tend to over eat a lot!!!! I haven't had kids but some of my friends are in the same situation - they have had kids and find it hard to lose weight afterwards - A few of them have shifted the weight successfully so I think you should be able to as well
