Hey, baby, what's your size?

Okay, how's that for a cheesy pick-up line? Actually, I have been thinking a lot about what size clothes I might be wearing when I reach different weights along the way to my goal. I am excited to imagine myself in smaller jeans, but I really don't remember how big I was at different weights (I've worn the same size for 12 years).

I know every body is different, and two people who weigh the same might not be the same size, but I thought it might be interesting to hear what some of you are wearing. I thought it could be inspirational to know what size I might be at various smaller weights, and that this might be helpful for others, too!

Anyway, I am 5' 5" and in a size 22 (U.S.).

Thanks in advance to everyone who responds!

I'm 5'4, 175 lbs and am a size 12/14 in Canada.. which i think is the same as the US.

twinmom...I am running about the same as you as far as size. My heaviest (255 lbs), I wore a size 24 jeans. I was in a 22 about the same weight you are now, but I didn't go buy any size 22's. I just hit 220 lbs and am now in size 20. I can zip up a size 18, but they are too tight to actually wear around. :p Oh yeah...I am 5'6" and more of a pear shape. I have also had 2 c-sections which also may have a difference.

Absolutely no jeans fit me. They are all way too short on me, but I would fit about a size 8-10.

When I weighed 135 I could easily fit a 7.

When I was at 120 I could fit into a 5

I am about 207, 5'4", and I wear a size 18. I wore this size at 225 too, but I admit it was tight! Lol!

Wow

Run - that's pretty cool! 163 is a size 8/10. How tall are you?

HH - You must have a tiny butt! I still wore a size 22 at 225. But it was pretty loose and comfy.

This anoys me.. all these websites say if your waist measures this.. your this size... etc. According to the websites I am a size 16.. but most size 14s are loose on me and a size 16 I dont have to undo to slide off my body.

Same with my bra size.. I am 38" under the breasts.. and 42 1/2" inches across the fullest part. The D cup fits like it should.. but they say add 5" to the base and thats what size your bra should be. Ya, right. That means I should be a 43D. 40D is loose on me!! I wear a 38D and it fits like a charm!

I dont get these websites telling me what I am suppost to wear, when what fits seems to always be different. If I wear some of the sizes they say i should.. they would be falling off me! Its crazy!

The only thing I need room for in my jeans/pants.. is ass room. I have a big round one.

I Know!

I know what you mean, Avi2Kat! I don't have a whole lot of money to spend on clothes, and I have always been scared of ordering things through catalogs because I just don't know how things are going to fit.

I do a little sewing, but I have found in patterns, I have to make a size 30 pants. 30!!!!! I wear a 22 in every kind of pants I buy at a store, so what's up with this 30? But sure enough, that's what fit. Crazy. Oh well, not for long! :)

1-day-at-a-time - that size is something to look forward to! Wow, shopping in the juniors section. Who could imagine? Thanks!

Oh I can never order through a cataloge... I get it and it just doesn't fit right. However.. I order all my bras online through lasenza.com, and they all have fit.. and I order some pajama stuff through there because most there stuff is stretchy.. so you can get x-large, large, medium and small and its more generic so it seems to fit better. I just get a medium and know if it dont fit me now its going to soon. They have awesome sales... (just got 2 bras, 2 pajama bottoms and a chemise through there for $58 with tax and shipping for free). But ya, their clearence section is like my second home and their sizes seem to be pretty good.

Is this USA sizes we are talking about?
mine says 32 USA
I am 5.11 to 6 and weigh about 170 pounds
is it different for men?

men

Yeah, men's sizes are way different, but it's probably motivating for men to see what size they might be, too! :)

I wish women's clothes were treated more like men's. Plus size women's clothes are almost always a totally different style - like we all teach second grade (no offense intended). And you hardly ever see larger men's sizes put in a totally different section of the store! Grrrrrrrrrr!

The local Dillard's at the mall has their women's plus size section tucked back behind the furniture section, upstairs, while all the other clothes for adult females are on the lower level, with all the other human being clothes. Plus size women's wear is on the floor with shower curtains and draperies!!!!!

I know, this is just a rant. It just makes me SOOOOO mad! There are so many cute fabrics in swimsuits this year, but not in my size. Nooooo, I have a selection of florescent muu muu prints or black with a hint of color. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I am looking forward to shopping in the "normal" sizes probably more than anything else! I just want to be able to choose! If I want to wear black swimsuits and sweater vests with pumpkins on them, then fine. But I want it to be on my own terms!

Okay, rant over.

i wear a 50x30 ( well since the 30 lb drop had to notch my belt. They are in the same section. They are just wayyyyy at the bottom of the pile. The good thing is i get to mess up all the skinney peoples pants to get to mine.

Since we are going on clothing rants.. my beef is.. no friggin theigh or ass room! It fits my waist.. but not the rest of my body!! Do all girls come equipt with skinny theighs and no asses these days? why do they make jeans that are like that!!! It drives me up the wall trying to find jeans with ass room!

I'm 5'8 almost 5'9"

At 255, I was wearing a size 22
At 236, I'm wearing a size 20

In the past...

At 220, I wore an 18
At 205, I wore a 16
At 185, I wore a 14
At 165, I wore a 12

I've never been smaller then that (and that's been my weight, sizing progression from 1990 until now.)

neat!

Hillbilly - you crack me up!

Avi2Kat - I have those parts, I just have the belly to go with them, so when I get a waistband that is big enough, the thighs and butt pretty much fit, too. I did have the problem you are talking about B.K. (before kids). :p

M2M - That is cool. It looks like with my height, I am in the same sizes as you are about when I am about 20 pounds lighter. So maybe I'll be down in a 16 by Christmas! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!

Check out (fairly inexpensive), or (pricier but much better quality) for swimwear... they usually have some cute styles.. in color... I tend to like black myself...
