Hey everyone
It's time for me to get off my increasingly large backside and lose some weight!
I'm 23 (24 this month) and weigh 84 kg (185 lb), and am 175 cm tall (5'10"). In the middle of last year I hit that number and decided to do something about it. I managed to get down to 78kg (172lb) by making some changes to my diet and doing some jogging in the evening.
Then my working arrangements changed, I was getting home later. We had a wedding to plan and I just didn't have time. Now the honeymoon is over. I ate a bit too well, and that with the lack of exercise saw me head back up to my original weight. Damn!
My diet, aside from the snacks which I am cutting, I don't think is too bad. Breakfast is low fat yoghurt, orange juice and an apple. Lunch is normally a chicken sandwich (need to cut the cheese out again!) or leftovers from the night before. For dinner, it can vary quite a bit. It's usually lean beef steaks, lamb chops/cutlets, chicken, pasta (not so much), curries (once a week), and maybe takeaway pizza once a week/fortnight. I think I just need to cut down the portion sizes and cut out the snacks.
Oh, and the beer. I never really used to drink it that often, only when we had a night out which might have been a couple of times a month tops. Now I find I'm drinking one or two a night. Once that last sixpack is gone, thats it. I'll only buy a sixpack if I know people are coming around.
My wife is lucky as she has a very quick metabolism. She can eat like a horse and is still skinny as a rake. Unfortunatly she can be a bit of a bad influence on me, who isn't blessed with a quick metabolism!
So to get around the lack of time in the evenings, I'm getting up earlier and going for a jog in the morning before work. If I can't get that in then I'll try to get something in in the afternoon. My wife also wants to come along, which is great to keep me company and keep me motivated!
I want to reach around 70kg (154 lb), which gives me a BMI around the middle. Wish me luck!
