Im obviously new and i wanted some tips on how to lose weight. Im 20 years old 5'9, 216lbs and ive recently started eating healthier and jogging every night for 30mins. Its been 2 weeks and ive lost about 5 lbs.

Hi. Way to go on your 5 Lb weight loss, that is great, keep it up. Sounds like you are right on track with a healthy weightloss.

I am new as well. I recently started working out and eating healthy again too. I do cardio 30-60 minutes on the treadmill at night and am going to start some resistance band workouts too this weekend. I'm not sure what my weight is... I think I'm too scared to buy a scale. I think I'm around 195 now - 5ft 6 inches.

What is your weightloss goal? I would like to lose about 50 pounds this year. I'm interested to see how you like hoodia. I bet that with your exercising and eating changes will be help enough, but maybe you'll prove me wrong. I think my appetite is more of a mental thing, something that pills will not solve.

Do you keep a food journal?

they hoodia is not working what so ever. i want to get down to 150 eventually. its gonna be a long ride. whats the band restistance work out?

I'm new the this forum, but not so new to the weight loss effort... Before a back injury last summer, I lost 30 lbs between January and May.

Anyways, I was just going to let ya know, I actually work in a pharmacy and the pharmacists I work with strongly advise people to NOT take any "diet supplement" especially when they are first beginning a nutrition or fitness change. We have tons of people ask us what we think about Hoodia... or orlistat (aka "Alli") Just a thought :)

Hi, I am new to the forum, Good job on the weight loss. I am a student of exercise physiology. It seem to me that you are on the right track, one thing to remember is to do something you enjoy. I read that you have been working out for 30-60min. That is really good. There is great shift from Carbs to Fat as a fuel source after 30min of cardio, this is because you body like to break down fat and reserve carbohydrates for emergencies. I would recommend that all of your cardio be at a comfortable pace, if you dont have a Heart rate monitor then I would suggest to use the talk method test. The talk test is use when your doing aerobics in which you remain at a pace that if someone ask you a question you could reply and not lose your breath. If you need more info, please let me know. or visit some articles that I have written about the physiology about exercise and how to obtain the safest and more affective results by listening to your body. Hope all is well and Good luck on reaching your goal!
