Booooooo! So I still haven't lost any weight. I am now at home at my parents' place. I need to revamp my eating. I stopped keeping track during the last couple of weeks because I was so busy with school/clinical. BIG mistake! So I have to start keeping track again on here evvvvvvvery day! I'm the type of person who'll probably need to always keep track to maintain weight loss. Just a reality. But it's all good. Now is a perfect time to really focus on my goals!
I joined the gym down here for the weeks I am home. So hopefully I can get some good use out of it. I went yesterday with my friend and we weight-trained and did a bit of cardio. I'd say we were there for almost an hour and a half.
My parents' scale is so different from mine haha. I find there is a consistent 4 pound difference. It has me weighing in at around 160 which means at my apartment it'd be around 156. Still down a couple pounds...but nowheres near the progress I should have had.
My goal is to lose 2 pounds per week. Wooooot! So I guess my next 'weigh-in' for progress will be Christmas day haha. We'll see how I do.
hey Meggymay! it's nice reading peoples' stories that are so familiar to your own. I'm a struggling uni student starting at 161 lbs! Great job so far, and keep up the good work. Your determination is inspiring =)
Wow, so it has been awhile! I have graduated from university (again), and now have started working within my career! I have also moved across the country for work...what a huge change. Anyways, so I will be living in this area for about two years or more before I head back to the east coast where I am from. I have found the move pretty stressful, and of course I have been coping with that by eating (bad bad bad). I am up to around 166 pounds...I haven't been that much since 2009. What a disappointment! But life sends us bumps in the road, and I take full responsibility for where I am. I know what I need to do to succeed, and I know what are my temptations, set-backs, and so on.
Sooooooooooooooo. I think it would be nice to track my progress of doing this right. I have moved to not the nicest of areas (very high crime rates, social issues galore, etc.), so going to the gym isn't the best option...which is too bad because I absolutely love the gym. But I have recently decided I am going to do P90X. I have the equipment and the videos, and actually started the first week yesterday! So, I think here is a perfect place to document how I am doing!
Today I did the chest/back video, and the AB ripper X. Wow. That's all I can say! Tony Horton is a machine. And such a character. I have been watching the videos beforehand so I know what they entail. Tomorrow is plyometrics...and I am scared, haha. But it is going to be awesome! I need something to kick my ass!!! One problem I foresee is that I work shift work (12.5 hour days)...that doesn't leave a lot of time to workout on day shifts. For example, tomorrow I plan on waking up at 4:30am to workout because I know I won't have the energy when I get home from work at 8pm (the video is an hour long). As long as I go to bed by 9 something tonight I think I'll be okay, haha. We'll see!
But like we all probably know... working out is only 20% of weight loss, and food is 80%. So my meals are going to be a HUGE part of this.
It comes out to be more than 1200 calories but under 1500.. not too shabby. I am making this my priority. Being out of school gives me the time I need to figure this thing out once and for all.
