Here I go...

Ok so this is my first attempt at using an online support to help me lose weight. I am 27 years old and 196 pounds and at 5ft 4in I am just not happy. I was a gymnast in junior high and high school but when injury sidelined me things began to soften. I have joined gyms in the past but I am finding that my main issue is that I am always finding reasons to not go to the gym; either i use my homework load or stress from work to derail myself. I am totally sabotaging myself and it is beginning to drive me crazy.. any hints?

If you find you are really having a hard time getting in a work out now, focus on your diet first. I've been reading tons of posts here (I'm new too) and I think I've read that " your diet is 90% of weight loss" about a million times now. (Okay, don't quote me on the 90%, it may have been slightly lower as my memory fails me easily, but not by much!) Not that I'm saying you shouldn't work out, because that would speed things ups and generally make your body healtheir, but if you really don't have the time to do it right now, change your diet and when the weight starts coming off, use THAT as your motivation to get back to the gym (or whatever form of workout you are using). I have found a series of DVD's I love and am doing from home bc I am too embarassed to go to the gym. Stupid, I know, but still true lol.

Good luck!
