Here i GO!!!!

Sorry to hear about your struggle, but I have a recipe that may turn things around for you soup-wise. I got this recipe from my sister-in-law and made it tonight (changed a few things) and it was pretty darned good. Not the best soup I've ever had in my life, but did it's trick.

It's a Zero-Point Weight Watcher's recipe called "Garden Vegetable Soup". I'll also post up my changes in red. :)

2/3 cup sliced carrot About 5-6 baby carrots
1/2 cup diced onion About 1/2 a medium onion
2 garlic cloves minced
3 cups fat free broth (vegetable, beef, or chicken) I just used one can veggie and one can beef
1 1/2 cups diced cabbage
1/2 cup green beans I used more like 1 cup
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried basil I used about 1.5 tsp fresh
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup diced zucchini 1 whole zucchini
1 celery stalk diced

In large saucepan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, saute the carrot, onion, (celery), and garlic over low heat until softened. Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste, basil and oregano and salt; bring to a boil. Lower heat and summer covered until beans are tender, about 10-15 minutes.
Stir in zucchini and heat only 3-4 minutes (or it will be mushy). Serve hot. Makes four 1 cup servings. Per serving 42 calories, 0g fat, 2g fiber.

The calories are for the original recipe, but with the changes I made I doubt it could be all that much more. I was basically assuming that my changes would make it 50 cal/serving at most.

Thanks Pastelroses :)

Wow, and Thank you crazygirl for that soup recipe, Im def going to make that for dinner. I just gotta go get some items on there that I don't currently have stalked up since I used to all on my not so good soup yeterday.

It sounds yuumiii :)

DAY 9
11.16am

I just had breakfast

- 2 boiled eggs
-3 beef frankfurters (tiny ones)
-half a tomato raw sliced
-And yes I did have a little bread with it white Italian bread I ran out of my whole wheat bread gotta go stock up today.
-35 calorie no fat fruit yogurt

I made my breakfast bigger then ever before because I was reading a lot yesterday on how people tend to undereat alot and that is one reason why these life changes never last long because we're doing something that our bodies just won't be able to handle forever.
So yes, I did have a nice breakfast, nice and full but not OVERLY full and I'm happy about it, because Why eat 1400 calories when Im gonna lose the same amount of weight weekly by eating 2000 calories? So I'm doing things diff now.

I need to try to consume more veggies, thing is that I really HATE vegetables but I need to force them down and I need to look at some other veggie recipes.

I'm thinking about buying that Benefiber now lol.

Anywho, around 1pm Im going to have a snack.
And I was so mad this morning to find out that my darn fruit salad that I bought yesterday stricktly for myself is GONE! now. Eaten by a certain someone ;) lol It's ok I forgive him:)

I think I would die if I hated veggies. Some of my new favorite foods are veggies. My alltime favorite is tomatos, sliced with s&p and a basil leaf. Okay...tomato is "technically" a fruit...but whatever! I also really enjoy asperagus now, lightly steamed with s&p and lemon juice or balsamic vinegar. My son calls me a veggie pusher cause I'm always hounding him to eat veggies. My big veggie trick is twice a week I make a huge salad and keep it in the fridge in a big tupperware bowl. I use iceburg lettuce, romaine, red and yellow bell peppers, cucumber, tomato, celery and sometimes carrots. then if I have a munchie attack instead of grabbing something bad for me I grab the salad, throw on some balsamic or lemon juice and eat up.

^^ lucky you.
I really am not so big on veggies, I wish I was that is why Im constantly trying to eat them hoping that I will eventually become immuned to the taste of them.

**************

Anywho, I just bought some crystal Light and it's not so bad at all.
It nice to sub that for water sometimes when water becomes boring even tho I LOVE water!!!!!!!!!!

Try slicing some zucchini lengthwise into 1/4" thick slices, marinade in a bit of olive oil and basalmic vinegar for a half hour, then throw those suckers on the grill. Yum!

yummii will do!!! Thanks.

I'm off , gonna go buy some of those suckers and grill em.
Im thinking of making some mashed potato's, along with those zucchini's and salmon fillets grilled on the side with lemon slices, also salad with light Italian dressing, yummi.

Right now Im supposed to be eating freakin lunch, was thinking of a tuna sandwich but Im out of whole wheat bread of course so thank god im about to go to the store coz im getting kinda hungry here, hat breakfast around
11ish and a snack of ??? I had no snack!! OMG!!! lol

Hey Alisa!
Hang in there today. Sounds like you are off to a great start. I have another veggie recipe for you... so sounds like you will have some options after today.

Take fresh asparagus and wrap 2 or 3 each (depending on size of asparagus) with 1 slice turkey bacon. Then place wraps on a cookie sheet and bake until turkey bacon is crispy.

Oh man are these tasty! The turkey bacon adds such a great flavor that you don't even know you're eating a vegetable.

Woohoo!!! I will check back in on you later tonight after I get home from the gym.

Hey Stace!!!!

Thanks for the tip I will try tomorrow lol since now it's too late.
I tried the Zucchini today with slamon file, boiled and grilled cauliflower, eggplants and mashed potato's.

umm? well I did eat half of the zucchini slice and then I gave up.
I really think something is wrong with me lol? I will keep trying I swear.
I bought a pack of baby carrots to munch on today too.

Tomorrow Im trying Stacy's idea (minus86).

So I didnt bike today or go on the treadmill I had a somewhat busy day.
Had my light dinner and then I had to attend a soccer game *to watch of course* and afterwards we all went to eat at subways, I was very brave and got the whole wheat bread 6" of course , tuna, light mayo, lettuce, onions, cucumbers and shredded cheese, I did get Iced tea tho darn it lol and I did get two cookies along with my combo but I guess I'll live, I'm still learning things and how to go along with this.

It's 10.22pm and I'm considering going running on my treadmill but im VERY VERY tired lol, so maybe ill skip tonite and bike tomorrow AND run!!!!

Ok well...I think ill do that then.

Hey chica!

I'm glad to hear you are at least trying the veggies, and adding them to some of your favorite things, like tuna sandwiches, etc. will definitely get the ball rolling. You'll be eating all kinds of veggies dishes in no time.

I'm tired too, so I'm heading to bed. Good luck tomorrow!

^^ Thanks hun.

*****************************************
1.43pm

I had breakfast with a friend, we went to McDonalds but hear me out.
I only had a fish fillet (just the sandwich no combo) and a chocolate milk to drink, thats it and that was around 11am.

Around 1pm I had a snack, it was a whole wheat turkey sandwich with a little mayo.

Currently I'm not hungry, I just got done cleaning my car inside and out, took me almost 2 hours, it was quiet a work out bending up and down constantly, there was so much junk in there and it was so dusty I finally found some time to clean it all. I even found my digital camera that i've been looking for like crazy lol.

Well I'm off to work around 4.30pm so i hope I can hold on again eeek.

Today was a real shitty day.
It was going good but I was very sad to find out that it seems that i have hardly lost any weight. It's now been 10 days and i'm curious to know what I'm doing wrong. I am eating good, watching what I eat, I'm active, went bike riding and I run on my treadmill. Before I'd be able to lose a lot of weight by doing this, but now i'm moving no where.

I look into the mirror and I see no difference and the scale doesn't move either.

I was feeling crushed today, like what is the point of this?
I was also so angry that I barley ate and then depression got the best of me and I ended up eating fatty foods with enough calories to last me for the whole day, all that out of one meal.

The whole time I was telling myself, well u haven't lost weight so it's not like ur gona gain the weight uve lost.

I'm considering doing things a little more hardocore.
Like actually cutting EVERYTHING out that i like and eating a lot more veggies and fruits instead of eggs and meat so much u know? And exercising everyday on my treadmill.

I don't know what to do, ive been counting calories and nothing?
I cut out bread, juice, pop, all sweets, a lot of carbs and stuff.

GRR!!!!!!!!!
Must I not eat anything at all to lose weight? whats goingggg onnnn.

Now wait a minute... have you checked your body fat % in comparison to what it was 10 days ago? You may be replacing fat with muscle. Do your clothes fit different? With all the exercise you have been doing, you're bound to gain some muscle. More muscle helps burn fat. A pound of muscle is also denser than a pound of fat, so it takes up less space.

You may also be OVERdoing it with the exercise. Do you give yourself a rest day every few days?

But I know it can be frustrating. Makes you want to :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Hang in there! Don't give up! You may need to re-examine what you eat every day and perhaps make some adjustments. I'm not saying cut out everything... just try one thing at a time. You can do it!:biggrinjester:

EDIT: I have a question for you... how carefully are you watching your portions of what you eat? Are you using something like Fitday or a calorie counter to help monitor how much you are taking in? That might be part of why you aren't seeing progress on the scale. Progress in your exercising is a different thing... you are doing very well there. You start eating that couple pieces of potato wedge here, a bite of fried something there... it is going to add up, especially when you don't keep track of it.

Maybe try this... cut out bread, pasta and potato for a few days. If you HAVE to have something bread like, try finding those low carb tortillas at the grocery store. You can make a wrap out of them instead of a sandwich, and its still filling. Maybe try some whole grain things instead of pasta... brown rice, that type of thing. NO white rice! Just a suggestion. Try cutting out unnecessary sugars too.

You also need to learn a word to use with your family when they are bent on bringing sweets into your house...

NO! Say it with me... "NOoooooooo"

If you can't pass it up if it is in your house, tell them not to bring it in there. That will remove the temptation.

Please don't hate me for saying this, but it seems your biggest enemy is your giving in to temptation on foods that sabotage your desire to lose weight. That is just my observation, and if I am wrong, I apologize.

That being said, I will re-iterate... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Thank you!!!!
And yes I am very much tempted by food. It's a constant struggle for myself these days, it's my comforter and I'm always looking for it even when I'm not hungry so it's like holding back an addict from drugs while the drugs lay in the same house.

For 4 years now, it's all I've known, it's all that has worked to make my stress and issues go away so it's a hard habit to break.
But I've kept away from so many things these past 10 days. I've been using fitday and I've been mainly biking and running on my treadmill, I haven't done any weights or anything. Maybe the biking has given my legs some muscle which is causing the scale to NOT MOVE.

I am going to re-calculate what I'm doing because before when I tried to lose weight even without calorie counting I would lose weight but it could be my hormones or something, it's just REALLY frusturating.

How do i find my fat%, sorry I'm not so smart when it comes to all that health stuff, all those measurements, etc.
I feel better physically but emotionally everytime i find that progress hasn't been made # wise, I get a punch at my happiness and motivation and self-esteem. Like am I that far gone now that I cant lose weight even when I'm eating VERY healthy and exercising? Of course deep inside I know it's not the case but I would love to know what in the world is going on lol.
My clothes, well hmmm?? Im not sure hot they fit, i haven't been paying attention to them because I'm all about the numbers and when I dont see the numbers move not even a POUND after 10 days then I'm convinced that I'm still as fat or fatter then I was at the start. I think my mind is playing tricks on me.

*****************************

I had breakfast, very small.
A cup of hot 2% milk
One egg, 1 very small sausage all cooked together in olive oil and then wrapped around a whole wheat tortilla.
And I didn't eat it all. My appetite is gone. Every bite I take, my mind goes
" well no wonder you are not losing anything". No I'm not starving myself, I'm not that type. I'm just trying to stop myself now from eating when I'm not even hungry. So yes breakfast may be important and I had a few bites but I won't eat anymore when I'm not even hungry.

And Im gonna shove vegetables down my throat even if I feel like throwing up.

I'm so sick of this!!!!

Enough of:nopity:

I will go tidy up around my house and then have a nice long run to get all this anger and stress out of myself.

**********************************************

I have mine measured every week when I go to the doc for my weigh-in. He's got a scale that pretty much breaks down everything from body fat to lean mass.

There are scales you can buy that also calculate body fat. Its a worthwhile investment. I'll probably end up getting a new one soon.

I dont' know what to tell you about veggies. Even as a kid I never really had a problem with eating most of them. Now the only ones that I hate are brussel sprouts and bell peppers. They make me wanna hurl.

If I find some other recipes for veggies, I'll post 'em for you.

Hang in there! Even if the scale isn't moving like you want it to, just by virtue of exercise you working towards making yourself healthier. Once you get the food worked out... you'll start losing.

I guess you are right^^ I'm not giving up just yet, I'm just frusturated but I think i'd be very disappointed in myself if I gave up over a damn scale.

It took me 4 years to get to this weight, I highly doubt that it'll take me 10 days to lose half of it.

So Ima keep doing it, keeping an eye out for white rice, whote noodles and all the other horrible carbs.

*******************************

I just had my first snack of the day

Slimfast Optima bannana muffin bar it's about the length of our fingers and the width of two fingers put together. It's not the tastiest muffin wanna be but it does say that it "controls hunger" so let that be true PLEASE!!!

Here's a link of it's nutritional guide

Hmm...lots of carbs in there but I guess I can do with that many carbs once a day.

I haven't exercised in a few days now ( 3 days).
I was taking a little break but i'm now considering going downstairs having a 30 min jog/walk on my treadmill and hit the store get some veggies :drool5::drool5: (sarcasm) lol and some chicken breast to make for dinner.

And then it's OFF to work!!!

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

So sorry I haven't had time to pop in on you till now... I am so sorry that you are feeling so frustrated right now. I totally know how it feels to not see that scale going down.

However, let's get down to the bottom of things. I think you are really doing a fantastic job with exercise, and I know you are trying to eat healthier... BUT it does seem like you keep getting frustrated and then "pigging out" on something FULL OF FAT.

I know you hate veggies, so I'm not even gonna start there, but how about more fruit... etc.

I think maybe you have not been eating enough calories earlier during the day, which leads to hunger, frustration, etc. So, try eating a bigger breakfast and (ok, I am gonna talk about veggies) throw some veggies in there. Like breakfast this morning.... You coulda thrown some mushrooms, onions, tomatoes & bell peppers in with that egg & sausage and then you woulda still had a tasty breakfast burrito. Don't try to necessarily change what you have been eating, just enhance it with some additional goodies.

Then for a snack you coulda had a piece of fruit... apple, banana, nectarine... with that slim fast bar.

Try this for a while. You'll be eating more food, but it will be more healthy foods. Plus, you still get the things you love.

PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!!! I know you can do this! Plus, I need you to help me! I love to read my diary entries, and know that you have checked up on me and are giving me words of encouragement.

PS... YOU GOT WILL YOU GOT WAY!!! Again, I'm gonna throw your own words right back at ya! Hee hee... :waving:

PS... YOU GOT WILL YOU GOT WAY!!! Again, I'm gonna throw your own words right back at ya! Hee hee... :waving:

Aww Stacy I just <3 you girl.
Thank you for the support,I really needed to hear that and my own name too.
I think you are right. I've been so focused on "eating as little as I possibly can" that I didn't figure that all that is causing me to break down a little by little, and S### has hit the fan finally for me lol but it's like a light bulb went on kinda thing.

I don't eat enough during the day, and this is causing me to be like a monster at night. I don't snack often enough, not even on fruit, I get lazy to snack and now I'm realizing how important those few snacks inbetween count.

So i had my breakfast which i noted down and for dinner around 4ish I had two small chicken wraps and I made sure I bought whole wheat tortillas and I stuffed them with lettuce and tomatoes, I put bit of light ranch (75% less fat then the regular kind lol) for sauce and then chicken breast diced, about a cup on each wrap. OHHHH and ya'll are gonna be so proud of me lol but I did eat a lentil (??) soupe today. A Hearty spiced lentil soupe full of all kinds of weird vegetables hahaha, and it tasted yummi!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO my dinner was good.
At work I actually survived today, my will power was great if I may say so myself. Food did become tempting but I made sure that I got in a lot of water and I had a bottle of orange juice because I got bored of water. I am currently at home, hungry but I can't afford to eat anything, if my body is hungry it needs to take a chunk of fat out of my ass and EAT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise AIR is what it's getting all night and H2O of course.

It's 11pm and I really feel like going down and having a good run, I didnt run today at all. TOmorrow is the weekend so ima catch up on that bike riding with my little one.

Okey!!!! Have a good night all, and have a good night GUT!:smash::smash:

Day 12

Breakfast - Left over whole wheat torttila with lettuce, tomatoes, light ranch and chicken breast (1/2 cup) diced and a peach afterwards.

So I'm feeling a litte sick, I think I'm comming down with the flu, hopefully I'm wrong. My gf just called and asked if I would like to go swimming with her I said yes so she will call me back to let me know the details, I hope we go.

Last night I did not touch anything, I did not give into any cravings, I went to bed and called it a night even tho my stomach was protesting but w/e.

:waving:

GREATS NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Measurements JUST IN!!!!! And I'm amazed that even tho the scale hardly moves AT ALL, I am shrinking :D

Okey so here we go :

Waist: Was 51", Now 49.5"
Bust: Was 50.5, Now Same
Arm (right): Was 15.5", Now 14.5
Butt: Was 51", Now 50.6"
Thighs: Was 46.6", Now 46"
Right upper leg: Was 28.3, Now 27.5

So a couple of inches lost over all but I am glad coz I thought I was stuck at this size for like ever now, with no change at all even tho I'm working so hard to lose.

Yay :D
