Here I am.. Finally starting my Journey.....

I gained 40lb in 1.5 years! I have always been a chubby women all my life. My weight always were up and down. I thought my heaviest was 2.5 years ago. That's when I started exercising and eating right. I lost about 30lb.

I maintained the weight about 7 month. My life made a dramatic turn and I let myself go. So, slowly all my weight came back plus MORE.

Well, today is my first day of my journey.

I ate fairly good food today but could have been better. I worked out at gym for 40 min and walked about 22 block.

I guess I did pretty good for my first day.

Tomorrow is another day!!!

You lost 30lbs just a few years ago, and it is entirely possible lose it (and more) again.

And I see that you are living in New York. What a great city and especially wonderful in the summer. I used to spend my summers with my boyfriend when I was in college and absolutely LOVED it. We used to walk so much and I absolutely loved getting lost there. I want to go back to living there one day. Enjoy it, you are so lucky to living in one of the most amazing cities of the world.

Juni, thanks for the encouragement. I absolutely love living in nyc. I was born and raised here and I hope I never move from here. Nyc has various ethnic people and as a result there are ALOT of restaurants. I love going to different restaurants and try different types of foods. so, it's super tempting. I will try to close my nose and eyes when I pass by any restaurants ...lol... well, until I become 100% focus with my diet and exercise.....
 
I feel terrible. MY husband was off today. we went out shopping and have been eating fattening food today.

I just wanted to say that we all make mistakes.... I did that a couple times earlier in the year myself, and for whatever reason- it was always in my first week I messed up ... don't make the mistake I did and quit though- you will for sure regret it. I'm much more motivated this time around.

Just try to start out tomorrow in a positive way, and hopefully you'll be able to continue making changes, even if it's little by little.. Good Luck to you!
 
Thank you so much. I was feeling so bad and it was my second day. I will try to be better today and spend extra time at gym to make up for eating taco bell (yikes). I understand it's gonna take time to break old habits.......
 
Hi Kaleda, just remember there are no dead ends. We are all humans and waver once in a while. The point is to stay in the program. You realised that u ate unhealthy and will put that extra time at the gym. We are here to help when u need and cheer u on.

So today was a pretty good day. I ate about 1200 calories. Not like yesterday 1800 calories...yikes!

I went to the gym and took an aerobic and an interval training class. 2 classes.. 1.5 hrs... not bad for second day of gym. I sweated so much, I know i will feel it tomorrow. I sure burned those TACOS off from yesterday...

Man, I remember taking those classes 2 years ago and I hated it cuz I didn't get a good workout of it. Today, doing the warm ups made me sweat. I am really out of shape, it's digusting. But I will better myself... I am gonna be my old self again soon.

My body is sore from yesterday's workout!

I couldn't sleep have the night, so at 3am my husband gave a pain killer... I slept like a baby....zzzz...... But I woke up an hour later for work!... lol..... Feels good to be sore though.. It's a good feeling.....
 
I guess I did pretty ok today.

breakfast: instant oatmeal with milk
lunch: 1lb salad consisting lettuce, shrimp, corn, red kidney bean, 2 small cube feta cheese, some crouton and 1 tbs balsamic vinegarette.
Snack: 1/2 tbs chunky peanut butter
dinner: 1/2 cup rice, 2 piece chicken curry and 1 tbs lentil (dal)
Snack: 1 tbs chunky peanut butter with 1 slice bread

I dont think I did very good today. not sure. any comments guys?.....

oh, I didn't exercise today. My body is still sore from yesterday
 
I totally blew my diet yesterday. My Husband comes home at 1am. He was watching TV so I woke up. I saw him eating a gyro sandwich... So, I come next to him and started nibbling. Next I know I ate half of his sandwich!.. I don't know wat's wrong with me...

I think it's because I got on the scale at home and saw I gained weight. I saw 183 on the scale and I guess I got dicouraged. I have been eating better than before. I should've weight 1/2 lb or 1 lb less. Am I doing something wrong?

And that's probably why I woke this morning and feeling less motivated.

I will go to the gym today where I orginally weight myself and see how much I weight. I will be 100% confirmed if I really gaimed weight or not......
 
no, not at all. everyone's weight flucuates throughout the day by 1-3 pounds, depending on how much walking around work you're doing, or how much liquid you like to drink, etc. there is no need to worry :)

if you want to enjoy yourself one evening by eating a sandwich with your husband then do it! you have no reason to be distrustful of yourself. you've just started to make a large change in your life.. there are no right or wrong choices, just what feels right for you, one step at a time.. and we cant always be sure of how much time we need.

there's really no need to rush anywhere, you're doing really well already :)

I have been doing that to myself for past year. I go on a diet and exercise and a week later when I go on the scale, I don't see any changes. So I find myself craving for junk food and start eating. I just give up! and couple of weeks later I do the same thing over and over again... And that's how I gained 40lb.

Thanks for sopping by and giving a reality check. I sure didn't put on that weight quicky so why should expect to lose the weight so quick?.........

I will try to be good today and go to gym and go back on track....
 
So, didn't go to gym yesterday. Hubby and I went to do our laundry. We walked about 1/2 hr.

I will definetely go to gym today. We have weight in on saturday. Have to kick my ASS!!!
 
khaleda, welcome! Good job making a diary, it really does help!

As for falling off the wagon, try going strong for 1, 2, 3 days, a week...slowly build up. I know that it's hard to make a cold-turkey change, but if you can slowly incorporate healthy stuff, that's all that counts!!

Good luck on your weigh-in on Saturday!

Yea, I try to go cold turkey and when I miss a day of gym or eat bad I tend to feel bad and beat myself for it.... It's hard to change old habits...
 
So my work is almost finished and I am planning to go to gym, but I am getting lazy and I feel tired for no reason.. I work in an office. My ass is seating most of the time. I shouldn't be tired..... I always do that. I need to do get out this lazy mode. I don't know how to though................
 
In the first week of trying to eat well and eat heathily and start exercising properly
most people fall off the wagon! If you can stick it out it'll get so much more easy!
Keep up your water intake, stay away from foods with high sugar content and high
saturated fat content - you have to try stick it out so that you can get rid of your
cravings for those bad foods! Maybe try eating lots of little meals in the day if you
find it hard to wait between meals at work.
The trick is always to start slowly I guess. So if you're feeling tired make sure you
aren't cutting back on your calorie intake too much. Try to get to sleep early and
don't eat past a certain time otherwise you may have trouble falling asleep!

I know about feeling lazy! It happens... like when I am at work and its been a tiring day... all I can think about is how nice it would be to jus go home and sit on the couch and watch some TV...
I suggest, if its your gym day, just make it a point to go to the gym... even if u are gonna only do the treadmill for 10 mins... trust me, when you actually get there... you would work out a lot more and feel really proud of yourself...(and consequently not sabotage your diet)...
What time do you normally go to the gym? I go in the evenings after work, so I always carry my gym bag... and my gym is on the way back home... it helps.... just go straight from work.
I hope you went yesterday :)
Oh... and you are on the Aug challenge too... great... we can totally shed the pounds together!
