Hey, im 18 years old and i am considered over weight-

ive recently started gym and cut out all junk food- and now i even have 3 meals a day, rather than skipping any but my weight isnt shifting, its like the weight is glued to me, at the moment my main concern is my stomach- thats the main part that i want to lose- im doing all sorts of excercise from cardio to weights, and im not really as fussed as i use to be amount how much i weigh, more fussed about the way i look but it isnt happening-

Does anyone have any advise or tips on how to lose the weight?

I would try to have more meals like 5 but don't make them huge meals just small healthy meals and in doing so it should help with your metabolism throughout the day.

Also I was in your boat when I first started out, I was doing cardio and weights and was losing nothing. Then I started to realize I was doing cardio but when I was finished I wasn't really that tired, I wasn't sweating or did I even get my heart rate up. Well the following week I did cardio only and each session would last 30 minutes but I would work my butt off and I lost a little over 4 lbs that week. I only did the treadmill and would do interval sessions. I would walk a quarter mile to start off than I would do 1.5 miles walk a little than run at a higher speed and back and forth. I not sure of your exact workout but thought I would share if that was the case.

What works for me is to think when i eat most of my calories, which was usually in front of the tv in the evening. So i've stopped eating whilst watching tv and strictly finish all eating by 8pm. It was hard at first, but i found that i got bored of watching tv without snacks which left me with more time to be active and do more productive things.

Hi!

Up your water intake! A lot of the times the weight doesn't shift because people don't drink enough water to help theior body get rid of everything. You should be having at least 2 litres (8 cups) of water a day at least but if you want to kick start it, try 2.5 to 3 litres of water (10-12 cups) for 3-4 days then back into having 8 cups a day.

Hopefully this helps!

Not exactly. Recent studies shows that the 8 cups a day isn't actually true. The way to tell if you are getting enough liquids (and it does not have to be water itself) is to look at your urine. Ick I know but it is how you tell. If your urine is clear to straw yellow, you are hydrated. Anything darker means you need to up the intake.

One of the main things you must do to lose weight is to have a high protein breakfast. At least 30g. I have a 30g protein shake or 2 eggs, 2 organic sausages and 2 rashers of turkey bacon. Any of those two equal a GREAT fat loss breakfast.

The 2 rules are

1) Eat within 30 minutes of waking

2) Have at least 30g of protein

If you miss out this you will struggle, its a really important part :) If you just do this you will start to see an improvement.

Hope this helps

Ryan
