hi guys im new to this website and im wondering if you could give me some advice please. Ive lost most of my weight with weight watchers over the last 3 years or so. Im 5 ft 7 and im at 12 stone 3 now. My goal weight is 11 stone 6 yet ive still got quite a lot of fat on my stomach and chest.
ive got the infamous moobs and a gut i just cant seem to flatten out no matter what i do! I do 20 minutes rowing, 20 mins running and 20 mins on the cross trainer and 60 situps and eat well 3 or 4 times a week and the weight goes off from everywhere except my chest and stomach which is exactly where i want it to go from
can anyone suggest anything. Everyone i ask suggests situps but my doc says i will have to do vast amounts everyday before i see any difference.
Im off to america on june 11 the so have like two months to work has hard as possible.
any help or advice is much appreciated
thanks
Ian

So you weigh 171lbs (thanks google) at 5'7. Your chest/stomach are not flat because you have a lot of fat in that area. Lose the weight and they'll flatten!

I have a friend who's around your height and weighs 155 lbs. He's not completely flat, but he was when he weighed in the low 140s. While this depends on the individual, you'll need to lose some pounds to get a flat stomach.

To pull numbers out of my...behind, lets say you're at 20% body fat (my BMI is a little higher than yours, and I'm at 25%). They usually say you need to get to the single digits to see your six pack. You have some ways to go. But again, this depends on the individual.

What I'm trying to say is that you can do a bazillion setups everyday, and your stomach won't flatten. You need to get rid of the fat first. That requires losing weight.

what he said, loose the fat and the abs etc will show. Keep up with the cardio stuff and watching the diet :)

cheers guys it just seems that the stomach is the last place
for it to leave!
i'll stick with my cardio for now and the diet as thats what ive been doing all along. my friend says i should stay away from the weights as well for some reason. i get all this conflicting advice from people lol

Staying away from weights is a stupid advice, I'm sorry to say. Strength training would help you on your journey in many many ways.

Ask your friend why.

Don't take things 'as is.' It's the biggest mistake you can ever make.
