Help!! Putting on weight

over the past three weeks I have decided to lose weight and my biggest hill to climb was cutting down on my drinking, I wouldnt say I had a problem it was more of a habit, three weeks ago I was drinking between 60-70 units of alchol per week, now over the past three weeks I have cut that down to 20 units per week, which is good news but I have put on 7 pounds since cutting down??, my eating habits are the same and have started cardio workout at my local gym.....whats going on??....."HELP"
 
There's no reason to post y our question in multiple forums - your question will get answered when it gets answered.

How many calories a day are you taking in? How are you keeping track of those calories?
What are you current stats? ie height/age/weight/gender

Hi, sorry did not know wher I should have placed my post, my average intake is around 1800-2000 calories per day, height 69 inches, age 42, weight 259 lbs, male, I also take Xenical (Orlistat), I am currently going to the gym 6 times a week cardio mon, wed, fri, then weights tue, thur, sat.
 
how are you keeping track of your calories and are you sure what you think you're getting is what you're actually getting - an extremely high percentage of people suffer from portion distortion and are taking in far higher calories than they are actually getting.

How long have you been "dieting"

Have you seen any changes in measurements? the scale isn't the most accurate assessment of how you're doing - are you feeling any better? getting more stamina?

Why the diet pill actually? and what is your diet like with this pill - where are your nutrients falling/
 
As I said in my first post my eating is well under control and hasnt changed, but its just the drinking I was doing I hoped to see some weight loss for just cutting down on this but I have put on 7 lbs since going from 60-70 units per week to just 20.
