Help Please Gym + Weight loss

Ok i am 15 years old and 3 weeks ago i weighed 185. I started running and i lost 10 pounds in about 2 weeks, and now i have been going to the gym and i have been gaining weight, which i am hoping is muscle weight. Anyway, i want to lose my stomach and chest fat but at the same time i am trying to get stronger/defined. What should i be doing? Should i be eating a lot of protein or stick with eating healthy to lose the weight? Thanks for the help ;)

I usually start off at the gym with 15-20 minutes of olyptical. Then do our chest/arms/back/shoulder workout whatever day it is. And always drink a protein shake afterwards.

I think you're doing OK to start. A lot of it will depend on how healthy your overall diet is. Take a look around the site, there is a wealth of information on eating healthy and different workouts.... then ask lots of questions! Remember that you can't spot reduce, meaning you can't pick where the fat comes off. If you stick with your training for a few months, you will start to see a more overall transformation, but make sure you work all of your muscle groups, not just the upper body! You don't want to look like the guy in the gym with the big upper body and teeny little legs :)

Looks like your off to a good start,

Being only 15 years old I suggest you work fitness and overall athletic development.
I noticed you are not doing any lower body work. You should be squatting three times a week, supplemented by additional lower body exercises such as, hi-box step ups, lunges, bulgarian split squats.

If you want to lose weight and tone up, complex training at high intensities is the key.

Keep the questions coming, I hope I helped you out with my comments

Thanks for the reply's

I guess it was more like 10 pounds in three weeks, i have put on about 5 more pounds since going to the gym and i hope thats muscle because i still have been eating healthier. Also i have been drinking whey protein after i work out, but should i be taking it before and after?

But i was also thinking about taking a pre-workout supplement or creatine. Is this a good or bad idea? :/

Thanks :D

Thanks, i am also from New York, Elmira. And what do you mean complex training at high intensities? I have been doing olyptical, treadmill, stair stepper, and bicycles. But have not had much interest in actually doing leg workouts, why is it so important?

PS: i have also been doing more around 30-40 minutes of cardio everyday. Sometimes around an hour.

Complex training has to do more with resistance training. A complex would loook like this

Squat
squat and press
Push press

Each one can be done for 4 reps each exercise for 3 to 4 sets. Complete the complex 3to4 times

By the way, elmira is not far from my location. I have a gym I train out of. If you ever want some training send me a message
