Hi everyone! I'm new here, but was wondering whether anyone had any good advice for me. I've tried everything to lose weight - exercise, trying to eat 'right' - etc, but nothing has worked for me. I don't know what to do. :(

Friends are telling me to try diet pills, especially this new Alli drug everyone keeps talking about, but I just don't know...anal leakage does NOT sound that appealing to me!

Any ideas on where I could find some good diet pill info? I have checked out this site, and it has pretty good stuff on
diet pills and weight loss - but I would also like some others. Thoughts? Thanx!

Mindy

Diet pills are for dummies... to put it bluntly.

And define "eating right."

You mentioned that you tried "eating right" and I'm curious as to what this consists of.

Hi Mandy :)

Welcome aboard! We'll try to help you loose the weight!

I dont' think anyone on this board approves of weight loss pills. Esp. not Alli! You need to burn more calories than you consume. How many cals do you take in during a day??

If I were you...I'd start watching my cals. A healthy cal range is 1200-1500 cals..maybe more depending on your weight. And you really want to start moving. Excersize is GREAT for weight loss AND your mind!

If you have any questions, let us know!!

Hi Mindy,

Welcome to WLF!

I would strongly recommend NOT taking Alli. My mother who has been gaining weight rapidly because of the medications she has to take (she's always been extremely skinny and eats really healthy) and eats less fat than was recommended by their diet plan had the anal leakage. She said it was horrible.

You know.. when I first heard about Alli, I actually thought about purchasing it. (I mean come on... you can lose 50% more than just dieting alone?? wow) However, when I read that they recommend you to take a change of underwear to work, that tidbit of info scared the living crap out of me. (Oh God... that doesn't sound right at all. hahaaa!)

If anything, Mindy... try doing it "al natural." I've had horrible experiences with diet pills: liver problems, urinary probs, etc. If anything, you should also find a site that helps with calorie counting. (ie: or )

My way of thinkin about weight loss, is weird as most of my thoughts!! But if you start takin pills to loose weight how can you do without em if and after the weight is lost!!Same with exercise! if that is the cause of your weight loss then if you don't keep that up what happens?? So I try and control my carb and calorie intake to my output, and to be correct with my everyday life style, and it has worked for me as of today 79lbs gone and 8 inches in the waist!!Now this is the most difficult way for the fact YOU hafta take control and really focus on what your eatin and drinkin ,and for some time keep a record and review along with watchin the scale and it will start to tell the story, and you can get a clear understanding of how your system reacts to different foods, and adjust that to where your workin with yourself and can control your weight

diet + exercise will shed the pounds.

diet pills are nothing but trouble. they play into people who want a "quick fix", but what's the point if you don't have health knowledge or the knowledge to keep the weight off.

If you want to change your life forever, we will help you. but diet pills are not the answer.

well i think diet pills are good. i mean if your just going to take a diet pill then sit on your couch and eat an entire bag of doritos. its the wrong idea. but i take diet pills and i do EXERCISE. i use the diet pills to help myself not to eat as much and not really want to eat when im just sitting there bored off my but. ive taken a few different kinds. and i think ive found one that i like alot. i went to aslimmerwaist.com and bought phentremine. and ive lost like 26lbs so far in the past 2 months. wich i think is pretty good.

diet pills can be useless...

i've lost what iv lost all natural

the magic secret...

IS HARD WORK AND STRUCTURED DIET!

Why not just learn to lose weight naturally? It isn't rocket science.

1. What do you really know about phentermine?

2. For most, the effects of phentermine wear off after a couple of months and it needs to be cycled.

3. It does suppress the appetite, but I've seen on more than enough occasions that once you go off phentermine, the appetite comes back with a vengeance.

No thanks.

Wow...I would like to find an effective diet aid...but anal leakage is just too much!

anal leakage doesn't sound all that appealing, no matter how much weight you lose.
You should try doing it without diet pills.
