Help me become a personal trainer

Hi

I've been working out and reading about fitness for 13 years. I want to make the step to become a personal trainer but it scares me for some reason. How do you design workouts for your clients? Do you choose workouts that other people have created or do you make your own. Does anyone no where I can go to learn about program design?
 
When you do your course to become a Personal Trainer you will learn about program design, but if you wish to specialise then you should look into specialist courses. Eg. I am a a qualified personal trainer but do not work as one because I am also a fully qualified powerlifting coach, the type of clients looking for my services is entirely different to those seeking to simply get fit with a personal trainer. After learning the basics, reading current studies in both fitness and nutrition is beneficial, there are a lot of low grade personal trainer out there that offer cookie cutter routines and are very poor at customising to suit each individual client.
