Hi all, I am a 19 year old male and I've been working toward getting in better shape before I join the navy. I am 6 foot 160 lbs but I have a very weak core making crunches/situps/pushups difficult. I feel that losing around 20 lbs will make it strengthening my core much easier.
I'm eating healthy and my daily exercise include: jogging, side planks, planks(sort of), pushups, star jumps, and some lifting with a dumbbell.
I have no access to a gym and I would any beneficial input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to exercising.
In the past year my weight has been changing dramatically. I was fat before going into college with my heaviest being 185 lbs and by walking everyday I went down to 150 lbs by the end of the year to low of 145 lbs. But in the past month began gaining weight again and now I'm up to 160 lbs. I'm not that heavily built and when I weighed 150 lbs I still had a little extra fat so I'm not sure what my ideal weight should be. I will be exercising daily and will be heading to bootcamp after christmas.
My current goal is to be able to do 50 situps, 50 pushups and then run 1.5 miles in 13 minutes, I'm not sure how realistic this is, the latest I hope to do this by is October.
