It is just as important for someone who eats too little to adopt a healthy diet - as it is for someone who eats too much. Our bodies need the right fuel to perform well - so - if it helps you to embrace the idea - I am sure that you will be able to run better if you give your body the right fuel.

For one reason or another - you may not be hearing your hunger signals correctly - so I would log your food and exercise in and double check that you are hitting a lot of nutritional targets.

Ensure that you are getting enough protein. You really want to be trying to hit 1g per pound of your lean body weight. That could be quite a lot more than you are currently getting.

Make sure that you do the 5-a-day thing too. Plenty of veg is really good for you.

Get 1000mg calcium a day too.

Basically read the sticky threads in the nutrition section and set the rest of your targets - and make sure that you hit them - either by food or supplements.

You are best off getting it in food though - as your body needs a certain number of calories too. If you eat healthily at the right level and exercise regularly - your body will stop acting like a yoyo and you will be able maintain a healthy weight.

Consider eating as something that you have to do to acquire / maintain good health.
