You definitely do not need carbs!!! That's the whole reason why you are having cravings - eating too many carbs! When you eat refined carbohydrates they hit your blood stream quick and give you a nice energy spike, but unfortunately on the other end of it you crash, which means your body will crave more carbs to get your energy levels up again. It's a vicious cycle that can only be stopped by changing the types of carbs you are eating and incorporating more protein and healthy fats. If you aim to eat some form of protein with every meal you are much more likely to feel full longer, and not have nasty cravings. Just think about it, you can sit in front of the tv and eat a bag of crisps without even thinking about it, but if you were eating steak instead, imagine how quickly you would get full. It's about changing your palette and creating some healthy eating habits.
People eat junk and then feel bad about themselves so they skip a meal to compensate, but unfortunately this doesn't work because your body will be craving the nutrients it didn't get from the junk, so you will be hungry again pretty soon. You might be able to hold off the hunger with sheer will power for a little while, but most of the time you will end up succumbing to it and even worse, eat more junk!!! Eat what you should before what you would. Eat the well balanced meal before you fill up on junk.
