Help for losing weight.

I have unfortunately put on weight in the last few months and feel so ashamed and just... so unattractive.
due to the recession, there is nothing for me to do but find jobs but also results in me eating and eating and eating.

I had to buy new pairs of jeans recently, 2 sizes up from normal.

I need some advice on what to eat, how to loose weight. I don't eat sweets, I don't drink fizzy juice.
I generally eat cereal for breakfast, pasta for lunch or a sandwich, then for dinner either rice/chicken, or a bagel but the past few weeks it has unfortunately been some take away or something (non greasy though!).

I just need some motivation but more importantly, some diet plan.

Can anyone please help me? I really would like to loose weight rapidly if possible.

Also my job involves me sitting down most of the time, I barely excersize due to me working all the time and travelling all over and having absolute 0 time.

I do walk though, I love walking.

The faster you lose weight, the more likely it's going to be that it'll come back. Fast is not the answer .. healthy is the answer. :)

Read the stickies in the boards and you'll get a lot of information to help you out. What it boils down to is that you need to burn more calories than you eat. So start taking a good, hard look at what you eat every day and see where you can cut back or make it more healthy.

Exercise is also important, not just for losing weight, but for overall health. Try to get in some kind of exercise at least 3 or 4 times a week.

This is just it, I just do not know what to eat, what is healthy, what foods contain the "healthy" stuff.

Any tips or hints?

I do eat fruits, not as much as I used to... but I will now. I also drink about over a litre of mineral water per day, if not - more.

I agree with that. You don't want to get on the fast lane only to come back later with more pounds to lose.

Just walking is not going enough. You need to ecxercise regularly.
 
agreed but its tough with my schedule. i will do what I can,
but for now in terms of diet requirements.... what should I eat? how much? how many times?
 
Too many carbs

You should cut back on your carbs. That is a high amount of carbs for one day. stick to veggies and fruits. up your protein. you will get a hugh metabolic boost.

You're asking for a hard and fast set of rules, but there isn't one. Eating healthy doesn't work that way. :)

You need to make sure you're eating veggies and fruits, complex carbs (things made with whole grains, oats, etc.), lean proteins, and healthy fats. Within those guidelines there are literally thousands of things you can eat.

We can't tell you what to eat because we don't know anything about you. We don't know what food you like, if you cook, what kind of food you can buy ... anything. For example, it does you no good for me to tell you to have yogurt and fruit every morning for breakfast if you hate yogurt. Or I could say that you should have baked chicken and broccoli for dinner, but what if you hate broccoli?

See what I'm saying?

YOU have to figure out what YOU want to and can eat. If you tell us more about what you like, what you normally eat, and what you have access to, we might be able to give you more help.

well I generally like everything, except for mushrooms. :) I am not fussy at all really.
I cant cook much but can do the odd pasta, I also love sandwhiches. I really love them....
I do like chicken, and rice.... not sure what else to say really.
