HELP,exercise makes me BIGGER

This has ALWAYS been a problem for me...but the more exercise I do(doesn't matter what sort)makes my legs and butt MUCH bigger. For example..I do tae-bo live for an hour, then run for 45 min,do 3 mile walk later in the day...you'd think I'd be THIN,I'm not:( During cycle season,I ride 2-3 hrs a day,150 miles a week, again,I bulk up.Anyways,I'd like to lean down,so I do MORE cardio, get hungrier, but if I DIET,I feel sick and like I'm starving to death. If I eat what I need for that kind of activity,I get even BIGGER.Any advice for me and my weird issues? Thanks:)
p.s.I'm 5'6",142 lbs,med frame...if that helps

Do you mean bigger as in fatter? or bigger as get more muscle?

Coz if its muscle, i think uve got a gift!

For breakfast I have a protein bar, lunch usually a bean burrito and yogurt.Snack is allbran or wheat bread.Dinner I have a soy patty,lettuce,beans...sherbert for dessert.
Sometimes I DO indulge in sugar cereal, its my weakness!

Goin' thru the same problem

Hi.Dancer Dame.I'm new to the forum. Read ur post.I'm goin thru a similar problem. My weight has reach a plateau and I can't seem to be losing anymore weight. If I were too increase any more workout on my body and reduce my food intake, I will lose some weight but I'll feel very lethargic and sick.

So, I guess everyone's body is different in a way, depending on our genetic make up.I ended up thinking if my weight and body size is meant to be this way. I have manage to loose about 12kgs. I am about 5ft 6' @ 132-136 pounds. It fluctuates every few days and the difference is quite alot.Hmmm.. am wondering if its because of water retention.

Anyway am currently trying a new health supplement that helps to loose weight and makes the body leaner by burning fat.Hopefully it works and does make a difference.Still not giving up and am still hoping to achieve my targeted weight loss and a leaner and toned body :p

Dancer Dame...a few things...

Get your body fat % tested. If you do not know where you are, then you cannot be sure where you are heading. If you are adding muscle (which some people do VERY easily), then my advice would be totally different than if it was fat.

Assuming it is fat and NOT muscle... you are doing a lot of activity. I am not so sure the daily menu you provided would provide enough calories. If that is the case, your body may be holding on to its fat and eating its muscle.

The other thing... are you a vegetarian? I am one and we really need to watch the protein intake. Yours could be a bit better. The more protein we eat the less water is held between our skin and muscles. This water retention often makes us feel and look "puffy."

If this is the case, it's called "fat aerobic instructor" syndrome. Ever see an aerobic instructor that is not really what you expect? It's because she does cardio, cardio, cardio and has absolutely no muscle. She also usually doesn't eat as much as she should. It's sort of an inside joke in the fitness industry, but it proves my point here.

Hope that helps.
