I need help starting a workout plan that I could stick to

Hi there! Welcome to the forum!

Just to give us an idea of what you are looking to do... how tall are you & how much do you weigh? How much would you like to weigh? Is it a matter of losing a few pounds, or getting your overall shape toned up a bit?

In the 'weight loss through exercise' forum there's several stickied threads for different types of exercise. That might be a good starting point for you. Might also give you ideas of other questions you will want to ask.

And, while you don't really 'need' exercise equipment, I find that having at least a couple sets of lightweight dumbells can come in handy. Helps with the toning.

Also, keeping track of what your daily caloric intake can be helpful. There's a great site called fitday.com that you can enter the foods you eat, helps calculate your daily total of calories. Plus if you enter your height, weight, age, etc. it can help you calculate how many calories recommended for weight loss, maintenance, etc. Good guideline, anyway.

Good luck!:hurray:

its great that u want to tone up and get into a greater shape.. as Phoenyx suggested u can always check the exercise section of the forum, its really helpful... u can also try doing kick boxing or tae bo.. u can do it at home.. it tones u up.. makes u really stronger, and comes in really handy when some one ticks u off..

welcome to the forum :) :chillpill:

Tae Bo is awesome! I just started doing that last week. Definitely incorporates some of what I've learned in my MMA classes, and really makes you SWEAT!. Good stuff.

Well I'm about 145 pounds & 5 foot 3 inches
Idk how much I would like to weigh, just less
It is more of just getting in better shape & looking better

I'll definitely be checking that website out =]
Thanks :D

And whats tae bo??

Tae Bo is a workout that is part kick boxing, part boxing, and a lot of aerobic type moving around. If you google Billy Blanks or Tae Bo, you will get a lot of information. Tae Bo has been around for years, I just started recently doing it. Figured if its been around this long, there must be something to it.

the best advice I can give you is start SLOWLY making small changes so that you stick to them. small changes may not seem like a lot but if you make several of them they will add up. modify your eating to cut some calories from your diet and implement some exercise. it doesnt have to be a lot, ANY moving is better than none..but you should try to get atleast 30 mins every other day no matter what kind of activity you want. walking is good, running if you can handle it..if not then alternating walking/jogging in bursts is a good workout and helps you build stamina. also you must realize that it takes patience...for people with a LOT of weight to lose the weight can come off quickly in 2-3 pounds for week, but for someone with less to lose it goes slower..this is normal and healthy!
