help and opinions needed

Hi all

Im new here and need advice.

Im about to embark on a long term weight loss plan. I am very overweight at 17 and a half stone.

This will be a long process and I am not looking for a quick fix. What I need to know is the following. Although I am clearly overweight, because of my height and proportion I do not look as heavy as I am. I want to lose 21 pounds (a stone and a half) by December 11th for a special occasion. I do not think this is unrealistic as my starting weight is so high. What I want to know is will such a small weight loss make a difference in the way I look by this date or will no-one really notice until Ive lost a few stone?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

xx

Realistic weight loss is 1 percent of your total body weight a week... so don't push yourself too hard.. you will definitely get closer to your goal by then.

I'd sign up for a site like or and honestly record your calories to see what you are really taking in.. then do as tehy suggest and cut back to the calorie range that tehy suggest.

Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces in water (32 ounces is a liter if that helps)

Get lots of rest, you can't lose weight if you aren't getting a good nights sleep.

Exercise daily. Even if it's going out for a walk every day... movement helps.

thank-you! I'll look into those sites!

And what about the other question? do you think that a 21 pound loss will be slightly noticable on my frame?

Idont rememeber where I got this from... but someone told me that every 20 lbs you shed a "layer"... and that layer is usually noticable.. especially if people don't see you every single day...

so I would say that 21 lbs would be noticable..

take your starting measurements to prove it to yourself and then your ending measurements and see the change.. you should also see a difference in how your clothes fit
