just wanted to say a quick hello!

new here and hoping i can get some tips, motivation, and support! I'm currently an art student in Chicago and am trying to lose some weight and tone up for the quickly coming summertime! :blush5:
 
Hey there and welcome to the site! It's a great place for motivation and information.

I would suggest reading around through some of the stickies and starting a diary. The diaries are great sources to get to know other members, keep track of your weight loss, see patterns, and of course.. get motivated!

What are you looking at as far as exercise, eating, and goals?

yes i can tell this will be a really helpful site, i've learned something new already from one of the stickies in the first 5 minutes of browsing! I haven't seen the diaries part yet, but i'll have to do some more exploring and figure one of those out. haha

Excersice wise, I want to do about 45 minutes of cardio (or more if i can) for 3-5 days a week
As for my diet im trying to do about 1000-1200 cals a day and cutting out "fast" carbs...in 4-5 small meals. lots of fruits and veggies!
I'm hoping to lose about 15-20 lbs of fat (building a little muscle and tone too).. the sooner the better, but over the course of summer which would be may-julyish
 
1000-1200 is probably too few calories to be honest. Take a look at this page

It explains how and why you should be eating certain amounts of calories :)
