Hello

Hi all,

Just joined and thought I'd introduce myself.

Over the past year I have lost 4.5 stone and am really happy. The weight just dropped off when I stopped dieting, I read Paul McKenna's I can make you thin book and although I did not agree with everything and the hypnosis CD did not seem to work at all, I came away with two sound principles - Eat when you are hungry and Stop when you are full. I also started back at the gym after about a year hiatus and really enjoy going. Back in May I changed gyms and started going to classes on my own for the first time ever and I thoroughly enjoy them and my gym workouts.

I have crept up from 9stone 9lb to 10 stone and have joined fitness.com to scan for tips etc. Although I lost the weight I will admit that I do not have a healthy diet and this is the next thing I am looking to tackle, I do smoke but have decided that I will be tackling one thing at a time. I'd like to be 9 stone and have made an agreement with myself that when I am at my target weight the smoking stops, being more active now than ever before i can honestly say I don't enjoy smoking like I used to but am not quite ready to give it up.

I am going to create a journal on here to tack my progress and any advice or feedback will be much appreciated. Also if anyone wants to ask me anything, feel free, I am not an expert but I do know what a struggle it can be to lose weight and also find the motivation and confidence to go to the gym, especially going to classes on your own where you don't know anyone! Going to classes on my own was the best thing I ever did and I have met loads of nice people. It's not easy to take the steps but once you do you just can't beat that feeling of accomplishment.

Oh, guess I should give my stats -

28 years old
10st 2lb (as of today!)
5 foot 5 inches
Body fat unknown (will be working that out though)
