Hello

Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself and tell you my story of going from fit to overweight back to fit. My name is Dan I'm 21 currently 6'2 187lbs. I have lived in Montana my whole life, spending time in the woods hiking, camping with my friends pretty much staying active, in high school I played soccer and basketball and usually had 1 weight training class each semester so I stayed in pretty good shape right around 12% body fat.

When I went off to college I kind of stopped working out and playing sports and started sitting in front of my computer playing video games for most of my free time. My eating habits got really bad. I have always liked pop, but when I started college I didn't have my mom getting on my case if i had to many so I started drinking on average about 5 cans a day, with the pop, eating the food from the college cafeteria, a lot of fast food, sitting in front of a computer all day with no exercise I quickly started to get out of shape.

This went on for about 2 years up until November of last year when I decided to join the Navy and found out that I had high blood pressure which was a shock as I'm only 21 with no history of high blood pressure in my family. I decided that enough was enough and I had to change my life, so I basically cut out all processed food cut back from 5 cans of pop a day to only having 4 cans in the last 4 months, I started eating whole grain foods, brown rice, chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit. I started working out hard getting in around 30-40 min of cardio a day, went back to the workout routines I was using for basketball in high school.

I went from 230lbs at the start of December to 187lbs 15% body fat no high blood pressure, doing between 80 and 90 min of cardio a day split between a rowing machine and a treadmill (still to muddy and cold to run outside). I went from using weights to doing body weight training doing around 500 pushups 120+ pullups and to many sit ups and core exercises to count everyday. I have way more energy and just overall feel a lot better. My goal is to get down to about 180 and under 10% body fat. :sport:
