Hello !!!!

Good morning all so exciting to find this forum I am starting my new years resolution early this year. I look forward to everyone feedback good or bad and interested on hearing from anyone on tips to what has worked for them and what has not. I not only want to be able to reach my goal but maintain it . I work from home so I will be checking in as often as possible. I am plan on weighing in everyday so it there in black and white letting me know how I am doing. I injured my knee last summer and have struggled to keep some weight off since then. I started a membership at the local YMCA so hopefully least with some swimming I can get some of the much needed exercise which for me in the harder part.

Good for you Brooke!! You shouldn't weigh yourself everyday because your weight will fluctuate, instead do it once or twice every week at the same time and try to be naked or wear the same weight of clothes when weighing yourself. I use to weigh myself everyday and when I didnt see results like I wanted to, I was disappointed, but like I've said to many people it takes time to see results. So try setting a goal for yourself like losing 3 pounds every week and when you weigh yourself that week see if you've reached it=)

one day at a time

thank you for the advice I appreciate any support i can get !!!!

Welcome aboard, Brooke! I agree with not weighing yourself everyday, your weight can fluctuate a lot each day so it can be pretty frustrating to see that. I would recommend to weigh yourself even less than what shernanigans said... I would say every two weeks, but once a week at the very most.

I am going to start weighing in about once a week for now I agree I might be very upset if I weigh in to much. I track my calories so as long as I do that should be good to go. On another note I really have enjoyed my experience with the forums so far . Hope every one has a happy healthy day.

Hey, I have one tip regarding your weighing. Make sure to use the same scales, wear the same clothes and do it at the same time every day, or you may get wonky results. I know I did.

I agree with everyone thank you for the advice i decided to way "weigh in each' monday instead of daily looking forward to that instead of daily which honestly could set the mood for the entire day other wise .... on an awesome note was able to fit in to my old"new again" jeans this morning YEahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Morning all My weigh in is today ... so considering the fact we have had 3 family dinner yikes and it is not Christmas yet. .... I have still lost some weight well OK a pound . At least I did not gain weight and considering it is the hardest time to even maintain I will take it :) Merry Christmas eve.

Even small victories are victories, Rose. A pound lost now is a pound you don't have to worry about tomorrow, so well done!

Hello Avery!!!!! Welcome
@mrxian - whato do you mean you have two christmases? how does it work ?

@ EVERYBODY Good morning !

Well, some time ago, we Dutch had so much fun during Christmas, we decided to do it all again the next day. Since then, we have a first Christmas day and a second Christmas day.

Hello Brooke,

Welcome on board. I've just joined today so I'm a newcomer myself. I see you've already started losing weight. Well done!

I hope we will bump into each other now and then on here and learn from each other. Remember that little things can make our body's weight fluctuate so better not to stress too much on that scale number. The clothes will show us when we're losing weight anyway!

Let's do this!

Indeed its very true swimming is exercise which can make a shape of your muscles and also helpful for weight lose as well. I have also keen of this game.

thank you good to hear from you too!!! I just returned from a New years trip so I am super ready to get started again in the new year. See you round the blog :)
