Hello everyone, my name is Christina. I'm here for help and support. Also, to help others if i can.
This is a hard battle, and i hope i can reach my goals. Its hard when i notice everything i use to eat or try to eat now has so many calories. Its crazy!
I recently got a treadmill. Stopped with the junk and fast food.
I try to speed walk 5 night a week. I've gotten faster. So thats wonderful.
I'm hoping to loose around 70 pounds.
I'm not sure what else to say.. Hi!

Hi Christina!

Great way to start! You are already on track!

I started walking a couple of weeks ago too....tried starting the couch to 5k program but am not ready for that....almost coughed up a lung on the first and second day. So I am just walking as best as I can.

One thing I learned is to stretch properly...even if its just for walking. It wakes up the muscles and gets them ready to work. And I found theres less soreness after I am done.

Good luck on your goals and keep us posted on how you are making out! Motivation works both ways!

It's great that you've started using the treadmill during the week! But don't forget that the majority of weight loss is done in the kitchen! You can work your butt off all you want...but if you're eating too much, you won't lose weight! So you should considering logging your food everyday if that helps you. :)

Hey, welcome to the forum.

Giving up junk food and sugary drinks right off the bat will set you on the track for losing weight. Easing in to a healthy diet and limiting your calories will go a step further and can give you 1-2 pounds of loss per week if you stay dedicated and smart to your diet.

Exercise will increase fat loss, but your weight loss might be a little confusing. During exercise your muscles are likely going to grow a little over time and that will equate to weight gain. This is, of course, a good thing but you should keep it in mind while going on the scale. Use a mirror to see your progress instead.

For long term results, don't push yourself into a diet and exercise regime. Take small steps and it will become second nature to you. That is key for maintaining your ideal weight once you reach it.

Thanks! I'm lowing my calorie intake! So heres to a good start! Water bottles all around!
