Hi, I'm Suzanne. I am 40 and have been struggling with my weight since my mid twenties. I have now reached 18st 5lbs and something had to be done. I had a gastric balloon fitted 2 days ago. I had not even heard of such a thing as a gastric balloon until 7 days ago! I was contacted as there had been a cancellation - maybe just as well I didnt think about it for too long! I have felt pretty rough since but I keep reminding myself of how great it must be to not have to constantly cover your arms, stomach, legs etc., or feel completely inferior to everyone else around you.
If anyone has any tips for how to deal with thew cramps I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

There is a weight loss surgery section on the forum - so I would have a browse round there as I know that there are people that have had this procedure and will be able to say how things panned out for them.

People do not always check the newcomer section so I suggest that you kind of go looking for them by making a posting in that section with a similar question and a suitable title.

You can also look through the different threads as I am sure that this topic will have been asked and answered by others. It sounds such a reasonable thing to ask.

You can also look to see which people are in (green light on next to name) and when you qualify to send PMs you could send them a message if you havent had a reply).

I seem to remember that you had to make a certain amount of postings and have been a member here for 3 days before you could send a message. I am sure that it will be in the FAQs.

Good luck with your weight loss and just look forward to how good you are going to feel when you lose some weight.

The cramps will pass. Eat small portions. Follow the diet you have been given. Hang in there & good luck

As Omega said, I would check out the surgical weiht loss section here.

I must say that I'm kind of .. well ... shocked ... that anyone could legitimately get that kind of procedure with 5 days notice and never even having heard of the procedure. Were you given any kind of behavioral information? Dietary information? Counseling or therapy on eating habits and how to change them?
