Can you give us more information on your goals and how you plan to achieve them? What do you weigh now, how much do you want to lose, how do you eat currently? All that will help us to give you better advice.
Well I weigh 139pounds, I'm 5"2. I'd like to weigh 126pounds by second week of november (ie lose 13 pounds over 13 weeks), and just to generally be more lean and toned. ive been thinking about going down to 119 pounds sometime after that, if i could. i dont have a job at the moment or anything so i have lots of time to dedicate to my health. i wish to go about this by becoming more aware of my exercise and diet habits and then to stick to some kind of routine that's challenging.. i tend to just float around instead of committing to something.
i started getting back into exercise 2 weeks ago, and have started a routine which looks promising. nutritionally (binge eating aside) i think im alright though looking through the website im finding i dont know as much as i suspected about my diet, and could do with changing.
my habit of mindless binge eating really keeps me back, and my metabolism is pretty rubbish. it's not something i've tried to address before, before this week.
I definitely think a pound a week is a reasonable and healthy goal.
My suggestion would be to start out with keeping a food journal - I use thedailyplate.com but a lot of people here use fitday.com and love it, too. It will really help you to see how many calories you're eating and how your macro nutrients break down.
I'd say at your weight, you could lose weight at a healthy rate by eating around 1300 calories a day. The thing about that calorie level is that you don't have a lot of wiggle room, so you need to make sure that everything you eat counts towards good nutrition.
I'd work on getting your macros to somewhere around 40/30/30 - and for most people that means eating a LOT more protein than they're used to.
