I'm new here and hoping that this may keep me motivated on my way to my goal weight. My top weight was 260 prior to my last (3rd) pregnancy. I decided that while I was pregnant I was not going to continue to keep climbing up the scale, and stopped eating flour and sugar. I didn't gain a pound during my pregnancy and walked out wearing pre-pregnancy clothing. Since then I have lost 60 pounds (in less than a year) but have platued and gotten off track. I am sitting around 200lbs and need to get motivated so I can reach my goal of 140. I am half way there, and need to find the support to stop sneaking those little sweets I have been lately.

I am an emotional eater and have a very stressful life right now, and need to find coping stratagies to get threw it. I have 3 very rambunctious boys which I raise myself, one of which is autistic. I work in the social work field which in it self can have very trying days, there are times I dont move away from my desk and other times that I am out on a call and dont get to eat at all till I get home. There are days I am home on time to cook and other days that I am working 2-3 hours after quitting time and dont feel like cooking at all.

Short story ..long, I am needing to get on track and reach my goal.

Hello to everyone.

Hello Michelleandcold, I am Natasha. I am also new here. Wow, at least you've made some improvement. I currently am at 265. I am married and have one son. I would like to have another, but I need to lose weight first because for one I am not healthy right now, and two because I have PCOS which complicates my fertility alot. It is so frustrating... I work in corrections, so I can totally relate to the stress at work and sometimes it seems like all we want to at the end of the day is eat a big bos of chocolate anything!!! I am swearing to myself today that I am going to start not only eating right, but living right. If you need support and someone to vent to or keep you on track, I'll try my best to be here if you'd like. If not, I wish you the best of luck either way. I have a long way to go. I would like to get down to 145 lbs because that is the ideal weight for my size, but for now i have set my goal at 40 lbs by March. I did it this way so that I don't feel too discouraged if I don't lose weight all that fast at first, I don't need anymore discouragement. And from others tips, they say to set your goal for 1/3 of your total weight loss and give yourself a time limit to do it by, but make sure it's reasonable, so I figure if I could lose about 6-7 lbs per month minimal, I'll be doing alright. Like I said, I want to change my life, not just lose weight. How old are your children? My son is 5 years old. Well good luck.

Thanks Natasha,

I to struggle with PCOS and am on meds for it, It is very difficult to concieve as I had to be on fertility pills to concieve my last one. It to is VERY difficult to lose weight having PCOS and it takes twice the work to lose any. My childer are 9, 5 and 18 months.

Thanks for the idea of breaking down the weight loss, I think that 40 pounds by march is pretty reasonable, I know I would find it easier to lose if I could get more active, I just find it hard.

Thanks, and good luck to you to

Michelle

Welcome to the forums and I hope it helps you reach your goal. I am just starting my career in social work...I work with homeless youth and I can already see that it is trying at times, and I have no children. I'm here if you need to talk.
