Hello, everyone, my name is Derek, been lurking here for a while, but didn't post because I haven't been committed to diet/excercise until recently. Just moved to West Palm Beach from Fall River, Mass and now am trying to get and stay healthier. Just got back to the gym and I really think I can stay with it this time. I have a ways to go, I'm 32 years old, 5'10, and weigh app 335, I don't have a specific number for weight goal, just want to be fit and healthy. I was in pretty good shape for a while, and I have lifted quite a bit since I was 18, so somewhere under here I do have some decent muscle. I want to get back to playing Hockey baseball/softball, skiing and all the other sports I used to play. I will post my diet in the nutrition forum, but my main goals are losing fat, and really cutting down sodium. My father died of amyloid (a rare kidney disease) mom died of cancer, so I should've done this years ago, as a permanent change, but can't change the past now. As I said, I just moved here and don't really have any new friends yet, so I have planty of time to commit to the gym. Eventually I'd like to hit the gym in the morning before work for some cardio, and then my usual routine at night, I'd love to get some extra cardio in once I get my routine set. I'm planning on 3 consecutive days with weights, then a day off, but still doing cardio when I don't lift. I have dieted on and off with good short term success. It wasn't one of those gimmicky diets, just ate right and excersised, but just got lazy and fell back into bad habits. Like I said, I don't have a specific number in mind, I'm guessing with my build, somewhere around 190 may be a decent goal. Anyway, great site, looking forward to chatting with you all. Derek
