I am a life long dieter and last month I decided to try again. I guess what's different about this "new start" is that I'm not following any particular diet plan. I'm just trying to watch portion size and cut back on sugar. I'm a sugar addict. In the past month, I've lost 7.6 pounds. So, I guess I'm off to a pretty good start. Wish me luck!!!

I'm just watching what I eat right now. I had been on a regular workout schedule for about two years and life got in the way and I stopped and have not been able to get back on track. Then last October, I injured my knee (partially torn miniscus (spelling)) so I'm a little scared to really work out. any advice?

Hey, congrats on the weight-loss so far! Um, I'm not exactly sure, but maybe the elliptical? Since it's easy on the joints and stuff. Also, maybe you wanna try swimming? It's an excellent aerobic exercise, if you go at the right pace.
Good luck!!

Hi! I have tried hundreds of diets since I was 15. The only one that worked for me and that I would suggest is to count calories.

Here are 2 GREAT websites that I have used to help me count calories and loose weight:
(to count how many calories you burn every day)
(to count how many calories I eat every day)

For example:
If you burn 1000 calories more than you eat every day for a week you will loose 2 lbs!
I weight myself once every 2 weeks and it works on the dot.

This is just my suggestion.... good luck whatever weight loss option you do!

Thanks for the tips, guys. I need to lose about 75-85 pounds. So I have a ways to go. I'll definitely try some of the things you've recommended and keep you posted on my progress.

You are off to a great start... keep it up. And when a plateau arises, don't give up. Come here and ask for some advice based on what you are currently doing at that time and you'll get some advice.
