Hello, My name is Amanda, I'm a mother of 2 boys ages 6 and 6 mnths. I have been on my weight loss journey since about september 5th, and have lost about 23 lbs so far. Well, I gained back 3 on thanksgiving. Takes so long to lose, but so easy to gain back... I am trying very hard to get back to a size 3, That is what I was 5 years ago after I had my 1st son, which was the smallest I'd ever been. If I did it once, then I know that I can do it again. I thought that joining a forum would help me to stay on track. I have had periodic weekends of weakness throughout my diet that have resulted in up to 5 lbs of gain in one weekend, and that takes me at least a week or 2 to lose it again. I don't really have people to talk to or support my efforts, so It is much harder to stay focused and consistant. I'm looking forward to having like minded people to chat with, and maybe learning a thing or two as well!

Hi Amanda. My name is Jenn and I am also the mother of two boys, ages 4 & 6. I'm new to this website as well. I lost 20 lbs over a year ago but have never dropped the last 20 to get to my optimal weight. Your story sounds similar to mine. There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't say to myself, "I did it once, I should be able to do it again!" Unfortunately I'm struggling. When I lost the first 20 lbs I did it with the help of some very supportive folks on a message board similar to this one. I'm searching for that same sort of help now.

With the holidays here I'm extremely worried about not just trying to lose weight but just to keep from putting more weight back on. I do "ok" with my eating (although it could certainly be better) but what I really struggle with is finding the motivation each day to exercise. Sometimes I just need that little "kick" in the pants to remind me that it's good for me and that once I'm doing it I really do enjoy it. It's just that after all day of taking care of the boys and the house and all my obligations at the boys' schools, I'm just plain pooped at the end of the day.

Anywho....... I hope to hear more from you and how you are doing!

My goal for tomorrow - hit the treadmill for at least 30 minutes - preferably 45!!

Take care :)
