Hi,
my name is Mila, I am 21 Years old and I am also new here.
I am not extremely overweight but a couple of weeks back at my doctors office i got weighed and even my BMI puts me in the category "overweight".
I have always been chubby and my mom has tried to get me to lose weight for almost ever but I refused, I felt comfortable being curvy, but now I don't feel right anymore.
I used to dance professionally but since I started university I have barely done any sports (couple of dance classes here and there) and I have put on some extra weight (all in my tummy area it seems!).
I currently weigh 143 pounds (argh!) and I want to be around 120, so my goal is to lose 20 to 23 pounds by the time I graduate, which is in may.
I have never been on a diet, I don't think I have ever lost weight in my life, i just keep putting it on, so this will be a real challenge for me.
My idea is to quit all the little sweet and greasy things I sometimes eat between meals (I am already a healthy eater, I don't eat junk, I don't eat fried food and I don't eat red meat), cut down on my calorie intake (no mayo, etc...) and work out in a gym 3 times a week plus go take a dance class once or twice a week. Also I have decided to try Oolong tea, not as my main dieting factor but as a little help (I love tea anyways!).
Quickly about me: I love dancing and snowboarding, study biomedicine, have been with my boyfriend (who says I am his venus, however I look) for 2 years now and my mothertongues are spanish and german.
I hope I can get the support I need to start this, love to all of you, Mila

Love your attitude! Creeping weight can be an annoying problem. Happens to the best of us. *grin* Sounds like you have an excellent plan of attack. Make sure to ignore your mother, and do this for yourself. Welcome to the forum!

My mom's been begging me to loose weight, too...but they're right, be sure you're doing this for YOU! ...and good luck! :)
