Hi peoples. Im obviously here for one reason. I am probably a more fortunate one by putting my foot down before my situation gets out of hand. Im trying to lose about 15-20 pounds. Ill float around the forum a bit to see any tips or tricks.

If any of you would like to direct link me in this thread to help me get started it would be great!

Sorry, I should give a little background on myself. I happen to be an adim of a very large Honda Civic forum... naturally (lol).

I drive a '99 Civic Si Turbo. Its basically doing 220whp (wheel horse power... a lot of go for a car that weighs that little) and its currently in the shop to do 250whp+. To give you an idea its doing 0-60 in about 4-5 seconds. My hobbie is basically what I do with my car, tweaking it out and making people who *think* they have fast cars go home very upset that a econo-box-civic ate them alive.

However, Im not the boy racer ass that typically roam the intemahnet. Im a very nice guy and help out as many newbies to cars as I can.

Anyway, I weigh in at about 185, I would like to be back down to 165. But working 6 days a week 9-5 at a retail store kinda makes the belly big.

Im hoping you guys can help me out. Since Ive gained this weight I havent been as happy, my insecurity has gone through the roof... so bad infact that I dont even bother or look upon some cute girls or whatnot to pursue. I dont even hit the bars or go out as much. Its also affecting my work and most of all, my motivation has taken a dump.

Anyway, here is me at Roebling Raceway in Savannah Georgia (Thats right, I race!) I passed a Corvette on the track that day... yea it put a big smile on my face.

Sorry hon! Sometimes you new guys slip through the cracks. Love the video. *laugh* Good to see you've caught things before then get crazy.

Hello, there I'm a newbie to! :p

I'm glad that you're trying to lose before any big problems result. I'm on my last 15-20 pounds and man are they killer. I mean this losing weight thing is kind of hard.

I wish you the best of luck on your quest, and getting in just a 30 minute walk helps. If you have to when you get your lunch break go walk while you're eating! I know that sounds sucky but try to get something in there. Regular activity regularly is the key. ;)

I'm injured right now, so that will be interesting how I keep up. I have leisure time so my time is a bit easier to work with and I'll probably just double the time I spend doing it to make up for not being able to run.

Anyway, I hope that you can lose your weight, so do your best we're rooting for you! :D

Thank you all! Im going to a gym tomorrow to get some info and sign up. I cant run or jog, for some reason I have a bad right leg. I dont know why though.

Mainly its controlling my eating thats an issue. Another problem is that I am a meat and potatoes kinda guy. I eat everything plain. Hell, when I go to subway they look at me like im retarded when I order a turkey sub plain... like bread and turkey, thats it. Bit anyway, Ill try to get in a before and after. Im attaching a pic of me when I was at my good weight about 2 years ago. Lets see if I can get back to that soon!

Plain is not a bad thing if it means you're skipping the mayo, too. *laugh* I definitely prefer my veggies on the side, rather than mixed into whatever else I'm eating.

Welcome to the forum feel free to start a diary so others can visit and support!

Im not sure about the diary part though.

Im going to look at a gym today and get some info. Im a little nervous about that. I dont know why though. I will just have to get over it.

Also, I made a ticker but after making it I realised that I dont know how to control it!

I think a lot of guys find the diary part weird. It's just something women seem more comfortable with. However, this thread is basically turning into a diary, so you might want to think about it. *wink*

As far as the ticker goes, you need to make a new one every time you want to change it. Tickerfactory does remember you though, so you don't have to go through all of the steps.

If it makes you feel better, my brother won't eat anything unless it's plain, and I will only eat lettuce basically at subway, onions are a maybe. So, you're not alone. :p

I don't think you need to eat lots of veggies to be on a diet just excersize a lot, and avoid high calorie foods. Veggies really act like a filler.

I'm sorry about your bad leg I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't run. I'm currently out for a week due to some serious bruising and swelling on my shins that I got during track. It so sucks. :(

Anyway, try to do your best and if you don't want to call it a diary call it like a blog or something. It's not like we have to know about your personal life. I don't know if I could write one like that. I'd be so embarrassed.

A blog would just be like something that you'd put up to keep track of your progress and seek support. I don't think that we need to know your innermost thoughts. I'm sure I wouldn't want anyone knowing mine.

So, keep doing your best and have a nice day. :)
