Super newbie here! I have never belonged to a forum, never truly tried to get in shape but now is the time! I just finished raising two kids to adulthood and now it is time for mom to take care of herself. I am 5'3 and right now weigh 279 pounds so I have a long road ahead of me. I have been going through the forum this morning and am excited to find a group of people going through what I am going through.

I am actually so new that I have no idea how to post a profile picture and the picture I was able to upload turned out sideways lol HELP!!

I will be glad to talk to as many of you as possible :)

I am 5ft3 and used to be heavier than you so can assure you that you can do this and lose this surplus weight.

The little picture that shows up on each posting is the avatar. People load it under the "settings" tab.

I know that there are parameters for loading up things like signatures where a certain number of postings and a certain number of days since registering need to have elapsed. If there is not an option in that tab for loading an avatar - I am sure that it will show up soon.

There is lots of good information on exercise and nutrition.

Lots of people post things in a diary - and you could start one and visit a few others to see what other people are doing.

The challenges and clubs are great places for meeting other people. I know that San is kicking off a new fun challenge in the next couple of weeks and that should be a brilliant place to meet people and build that all important support network.
