Hey everyone, I'm Kelsey. I'm glad that I finally found a weight loss or fitness forum. You don't know how odd it is to find all the forums or sites that accepts teens are like... "Pro-Ana" or extreme dieting. It's sort of sad.

Anyway, I'm seventeen. I'm about 5'2", and 155 lbs. My highest weight was 165 lbs during the summer. And when I hit that high, I realized I really needed to change my lifestyle. So here I am, registered on this weight loss forum.

I've been playing soccer for about ten years now, but was injured last season--I'm hoping to regain strength in my knee again to prevent further injury. Let's see... I did ballet for about three years, but soon dropped out. And this past year, I was the Wrestling manager for our high school team.

I'm looking to loose about 25 to 30 pounds, or at least a few good inches. Let's just say I want to feel healthy and fit again. So... how's everyone?

Welcome and good luck Kelsey. At 17 you can really set the tone for years of healthy young living. I often feel like I wasted my 20's as far as being fit. I was pretty unfit and overweight most of my 20's. Don't let it creep up on you! It only gets harder after high school so start forming some good habits now. Just don't think you have to spend 2 hours every night at the gym. If you can, great. If not, no big deal, just stick with it over the long haul.

Your 5' 2" and you want to weigh about 120 lbs? Eeeeeh, that seems a little tiny to me.

Anyway, I wish you well along your journey. This is a good place to get help and advice.

Nah, of course not. But as an athlete, it's the usual amount of exercise I usually get in during pre-season. My visits to the gym are every other day, so I give myself a day of rest. Haha, so far so good. :) It's nice to meet you!

155-25=130

Well, ultimately, I'm aiming for about 25 lbs--give or take a few pounds. This would mean my overall goal weight would be around 125 to 130. I've spoken to a doctor about ideal weights, and for my body type, it was right-on. He said that a lot of girls my age actually weigh around 105 to 115--with the same height.

And to both of you, thanks for the encouragement. :)
