hi to all who bother to come to my page :)

i'm an asian.

currently at 126.5lbs, 5ft4in, 23.1% fat percentage - that's what my scale shows me. trying to get to 99lbs or below. i see a lot of americans here. correct me if i'm wrong. our BMI range is normal between 18 and 22.9, not the 25 which americans have.

no idea how to lose more weight. basically i have a big appetite (i love buffets!) and i love to munch! whenever i'm happy, sad, stressed etc, i'll just look for food. and food i eat are not healthy. i love rice, the typical chinese food. :) i can have one full plate (or even two when i was in elementary school!) of rice with other dishes. yup that's how i gain weight. i don't have much of a sweet tooth except the occasional indulges of brownies. don't really like ice cream. thank goodness. however, i love to eat fried food!

i've been trying to exercise. but getting really unmotivated due to the scales not showing results. i hate it. no results = no motivation = not going to carry on! i run around the park occasionally. swim probably once every weekly (if i can afford the time) or fortnightly. used to visit the gym but it has been burning a big hole in my pocket so i stopped.

i feel a need to post in this forum to seek help. just ordered hydroxycut hardcore from drugstore and i'm expecting it to come within these few days. attempted to go to the doctor to get slimming pills (or you call them appetite suppressants) but didn't go in the end. (still tempted now)

i'm turning 21 this november. hoping to look good before this 21st birthday. find myself really fat (well, that's the difference between asians and americans since our body is supposed to be 'smaller' in size due to genes and such).

currently studying in a university. having lots of stress - that's why turning to food more and more often. furthermore, i'm having constipation - that makes me feel worse a lot for my stomach despite eating fruits especially papayas and bananas just to hope that they'll help in my constipation problem. oh ya, back to university. currently in year 2 and my course is a 4 year course.

soon to have depressions cuz i just keep thinking about bad stuff. did badly for my last semester exams. expecting the same for this semester (exams in end april). then my weight problem. my skin problem (i have acne). and i can't seem to turn to anyone in school because i don't have any friends in my course. i feel really lonely in school and i feel the urge to quit school. sigh. just a while ago, i was crying and i could hear laughters from people laughing at me - how ugly i am, how fat i am.

i went out to the park to have a run yesterday. after the run, i developed a very serious allergy on my eyelids. both my eyelids are now swollen and my looks totally change. even the doctor was shocked when he saw me. i was with my sunglasses when i went out of home. till now (it has been about 26 hours), my eyelids are still swollen. thinking of doing a patch test sometime soon to check which allergy i have. can't go out and run to try to lose weight.

sometimes, i really wonder why am i so lousy...

thanks for listening to my rants..

would love to hear from you people soon. :)

Hey dotty, welcome to WLF!

The BMI statistics are;

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = 30 or greater

I'm no expert, but I think going below 100 pounds is unhealthy, regardless of your race. your Body fat percentage is in the ideal range, your BMI is in the normal weight range, which means your weight is pretty much perfect for your height, 5 feet four inches.
If i'm wrong, someone please correct me!

"The range for acceptable, normal, or optimum body-mass index (BMI) for Asian populations should be narrowed to 18.5-23 kg/m2, according to a WHO expert consultation on appropriate BMI for these populations that took place on July 8-11 in Singapore".

People of Asian descent should be considered overweight at a body mass index (BMI) of 23 or above, according to a group advising the World Health Organization (WHO).
