Morning All,

Thought it was about time to finally start joining in rather than hiding in the shadows!

So a bit about myself, I'm 6ft 6in, 24 years old, and from the UK. I've always been overweight, and I joined on here back in 2008 (How long ago that feels!) to try to sort things out, after a while of progressing I slipped into bad habits between family deaths, and my university final year of exams, it went pretty bad, wiping out all the original progress I'd made.

Back in January 2007 I was up at 410lbs, by the end of 2008 I'd managed to get down to 320 which was great at the time. Fast foward to the end of university (July 2010~), and boom 436.3lbs (Just over 31 stone)

Ever since then I've been weighing in regulary, and constantly lurking on the boards, and have managed to lose 151.8lbs getting myself down to 284.6 (The lowest I've been in well forever!).

My goal of 200lbs is what I'm aiming for by the end of 2013 (Though September is my overall preference)!

I'll be writing up a new diary, and posting some "in progress pics" from this current session.

Many thanks,
Steve

WOW!!!! Congrats on that and good luck! You can do it! :D

Hey,

Many thanks! It's silly how I can look at myself and not see a difference, yet random people at work etc mention how it seems I've lost loads. Mind plays tricks I tell you!

I notice you've newly joined too, how is it going for you so far? Any timegoal for your losses?

So agree on your avoiding gyms comment, seems nowadays they're there for people to train, not lose weight, and you're an outsider in one! Oh well, maybe one day it'll be us who are there to train, and not lose weight! :D

Steve

Yes, I hate the gym. I feel way too self conscious and judged. Even when i was comfortable in my own skin i felt like that. There is just so much pressure to lift more than that person,oh gosh you're working out too hard and sweat is dripping everywhere and people look at you like "what the hell are you doing?" Yeah...just makes me nervous and slightly pisses me off-haha!
One day, I'll be there, the shortest and strongest! lol
But yes, new to this site, not to tryin to lose weight though. And I don't have major time goals, like lose 5 pounds by the end of january, and little stuff like that but I'm kind of a 'lets see what happens and then act like i planned it that way' type of girl. I would like to be 190-200 by mid april but if it doesn't happen its not gunna break me.
So how did you lose all of that weight? just diet and exercise? or did you find legalized crack in pill form? lol

If only there was an easy way! :D But honestly, I wouldn't say I've changed much at all yet. Simply eating less (Shock horror it works), and now I'm working fulltime, I'm running around like a loony fixing all the broken computers! (Up and down those stairs all day :) ) Still eating "wrong" food etc just less of it.

Will have to start doing "proper" diet/excercise sooner or later, but so far I've been happy just eating less and it's working :D I'm sure it'll hit a brickwall soon, but seems better to eat less of stuff I'd normally eat, then try a random diet for a few weeks then fail. Will see how it goes on this year.

Steve

ahhh, one of the lucky ones I see. I am a super picky eater. My normal meal for lunch and dinner almost every single day is usually grilled chicken with lemon pepper seasoning with a spinach salad. But I have become lazy so it all had to go somewhere i guess.. :( now i gotta shovel out some of that hard work and sweat that I hate, oh so much! But anyways, im off to watch the sunrise and have a bit of coffee. Have a great day! :D
