Hello there

I joined the forum for my wife as I'm also a member in the bodybuilding forum and helping my wife to lose some weight. Anyway, hi to everyone. Glad to join, thanks

Welcome aboard, Terry. It's too bad your wife doesn't sign up here herself. There's a lot that simply can't be passed along to her from you.

Thanks for the welcome. This is my way of getting her to start to get involve. I already started her diet and simple exercise but I also need to know If I'm giving her the proper advice and that's the reason for joining. I will make her read all the stickys and go from there. She already lost 10 lbs. in one month but she's the type that needs pushing and hopefully will ask for advice on her own.

Great... sounds like you're on the right path in terms of helping her. Best to the both of you.

If you can persuade her to join - I am sure that she will benefit.

The bottom line is that in my experience - motivation has to come from within.

Many of us find it very motivating to make friends who are in a similar position and maybe enter little challenges (or competitions) and clubs. Also looking at a lot of the before and after photos. Even seeing everyone's tickers encourages you that you are trying to do something which is perfectly achievable.

Aside from becoming more knowledgeable about exercise and nutrition in order to guide her - encouraging her to join herself is the best thing that you can do.

I speak of the limitations of second hand information because I am pretty knowledgeable and have achieved a lot - but my husband has as big a weight problem as ever (his BMI = 57)....

Good luck.

That's my goal is for her to read member's experience and hoping to become a believer. Thanks for the advice
