Hello everyone. My name is Nikki and I just found this forum today. I haven't had much of a chance to look around yet, but will definitely dive in.

I am 29, will be 30 in May. I've been fighting with weight for some years now. I've just realized the reason turning 30 is bothering me is that a year or so ago, I had vowed to be skinnier by the time I was 30, and I'm no where near my goal.

I will go through bouts of eating well and exercising a bit and then... nothing. I lose that motivation. I was sitting on the sofa the other day thinking of getting up to get on the trampoline and thought, eh, i'm never going to lose this weight, I'm too lazy and tired all the time to exercise. I don't want to feel that way when I'm so young. I have a 6 year old and I want to have the energy to play with her and I body I can be proud of.

I look forward to meeting everyone!

Thank you for listening.

Nikki

Hi Nikki I fully understand where your coming from on that score, thing is if you can keep your motivation going for a month or more you'll be fine, when I first started to try and lose weight I didn't have a clue whether I would lose any at all things is it's being aware when your letting yourself slip.

Like you said you couldn't be bothered to do the exercise in your own mind, so your telling yourself that it is so if that makes sense, when your wanting to eat the right foods you have to break the pattern in your habits because it's how you think about food that will cause the problem in the first place.

Thing is exercise doesn't always mean that you have to bounce on a trampoline you could always go for walks swimming, don't use the car go on a bus except walk a few stops nearer.

It'll happen if you want it to.

Welcome Nikki!! Good luck on achieving your weight. I hope you don't lose your motivation. How I look at it is that I've been eating whatever I want up until now (or until the start of my healthy eating at least), so whenever I crave junk food and don't feel like exercising, I remember that that's what I've been doing my entire life (meaning eating junk and not exercising) which is the reason I'm not the weight I want to be. Always have in your mind what you want to look and feel like, and remember it whenever you feel discouraged.

Good luck again!! We're here to support u!

Hi Nikki!

I am glad you have goals with purpose (that six year old little girl of yours in a damn great purpose!). I do hope that you can keep with them and this forum is a GREAT tool, please use it. Posting out your thoughts are just the best way to keep up with your goals. Questions are answered very throughly here... make sure you really look around and do some really good digging!

Sounds like you have all the right reasons, Nikki. Now you just need to mean them. :D And you've come to the right place for help with that.

Welcome.
