Hello there, I'm Morgen :)

Hey :) My name's Morgen but most people just call me Mog. I'm sixteen years old and I stay in the United Kingdom. I weigh around 142lbs/64kg/10stone 2 and am 165cm/5 foot 5 tall.

Now you may be wondering why I've joined this site.. My weight doesn't look tooooo bad when you consider my height.. But I used to be 8 stone 2. I felt amazing.. I could wear what I wanted and feel confident in myself. And now I'm two stone heavier, I can't do that anymore. My mother always told me I may have been able to eat what I wanted.. But I was going to pay the consequences in the future. And that's what I'm doing now..

So, I was thinking about what I could do - because I've been trying to shift a few pounds since October last year and I just thought to myself.. I'll diet! This was around two Wednesdays ago and since then I've been eating healthy foods and cutting down on fat.
On the wednesday I never bothered to weigh myself, so on the Friday of that week I felt I needed to if I were to do this properly this time. My heart sunk when 10 stone 9 showed up on the scales. (149 lbs)
I stuck to my diet and the following Friday I weighed myself.. I was astounded to see I'd lost half a stone (7lbs).. So, now I'm sticking to it.

I joined here so get some support and help from you guys :) My goal weight is a minimum of 120lbs.. but if i think I look good before that weight I'll stop! :)

Thanks guys!

Hi Mog and welcome!
Your body mass index has you at 23.6. A healthy range is 18.5 - 24.9; so you are in the healthy range already and 120 will still be a healthy weight for you. However - the BMI is not generally applicable to people under 20 - so...you would need your doctor to decide on a healthy weight for you becuase you are 16.
That being said - you can still work on becoming healthy and active! If you focus on that, the weight will take care of it's self. You need to focus on making healthy lifestyle changes that you will keep forever. So no fad diets or crazy exercise routines. ;)
I hope you find the support you need here! :)

Definitely no fad diets or crazy exercise routines! I may be 16 but I have an older head on my shoulders, don't worry! :)
I just want to feel healthy and confident once more! :)

Starting a healthy lifestyle is not immature at all! :D Better to start it now before it spirals out of control!

I suggest starting a journal/diary including your food intake for the day and your exercise. There are a lot of helpful posters here that will help you with any questions that you ask. Plus the diary section of this site is probably the busiest :p
