Hi there,

My name is Jenni, andI am brand new to this forum. What I am hoping for is support from someone that I can message about my lack of willpower. I am about 40 pounds overweight, and need someone to "poke" me into action.


I spend 8-12 hours a day on my feet, go to yoga every chance I get, I own a bike but I am deep in the new snow storm in Ontario at the moment.

I don't smoke, drink only socially(never to excess) and definately procrastinate about walking my overweight dog.

Anyone up for a challenge?

there are challenged all over the show here, we even have a part of the forum devoted to challenges to keep you active!

Im a big cyclist myself, but yeah snow could hamper that. But theres nothing stopping you from turning up the music and dancing around the house for an hour is there? or laying on your back air cycling!
Unfortunatly though yoga doesnt burn diddly calories, so you wont loose a lot of weight from doing it. Its all about getting the heart rate up.

You sound like you are off to a good start. I started at 50 lbs overweight, that was in December, I'm already down 26 lbs. This is a great motivation site.
 
Hey there welcome to the forums, if you set up a journal I'll be sure to "poke you often." I do believe I suffered the same storm you did * shakes fist at GTA attracting storms* I was almost snowed into my house this morning and the other day.

lack of willpower is going to be an issue i warn you. Both in life and here, we're all supportive but we don't coddle. Everyone can make a change no matter how much we think we can't. what are you doing 8-12 hours a day that keeps you walking.

Also the dog needs to work out with you, more walks and whatever you can do with it indoors. it's important for both of you to get healthy.
